Over a decade after wrapping up their series, the original stars of the show Skins got back together once again, causing a wave of emotional reactions among viewers.
Back in 2007, this drama made its debut on screens, quickly gaining popularity among a younger audience. They found the characters relatable and appreciated the portrayal of British teenage life as authentic.
This week, Kaya Scodelario shared a collection of pictures and videos on Instagram featuring herself alongside Nicholas Hoult, Daniel Kaluuya, and Joe Dempsie.
Rewritten, the caption could be: ‘She labeled the picture as follows: “Growing up, I’d pray for my brothers. Now that I have each of you around me, it means everything.”‘
Reacting on X, one fan said: ‘This has really put me in my feels’;
‘I love seeing the skins cast still interacting with each other to this day’;

‘Makes me feel so old!’; ‘So much talent in one pic’
Skins launched the careers of some of Britain’s most hyped actors of the noughties.
Prior to that, Skins – a groundbreaking series on E4 – featured young, naive actors including Nicholas Hoult (the newest Superman villain) in its gripping teen dramas.
A significant number of alums are associated with numerous award-winning projects, Oscar nominations, BAFTA victories, and films renowned in Hollywood – some have branched out, however, with one beloved figure transitioning into neuroscience research, and another delving into education.
As a devoted fan, I can attest that Nicholas’ character Tony Stonem was both charismatic and cunning – a charming rogue who captivated a fleet of wide-eyed admirers. On the show, he may have been morally complex, but off-screen, the then 17-year-old actor effortlessly won over viewers with his striking good looks and daring manipulations.
Prior to becoming an adult, Nicholas landed his second major role after playing a part in “About a Boy” at the age of 11. This was his performance in the series known as “Skins”.
The individual, formerly a resident of Wokingham in Berkshire, aged 35, has now fully embraced and exudes the allure of a leading man.
Over the last decade, he has been featured in numerous successful movies, such as the X-Men franchise, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Favourite, and The Menu. Most recently, he is portraying Lex Luthor in the latest Superman movie.

In the growing-up series, Kaya portrayed Effy, Tony’s younger sibling, who frequently outpaced her brother in terms of late-night partying and was often spotted slipping away secretly to enjoy festivities.
Swiftly gaining popularity among fans, Kaya Scodelario’s film career took off with great success; an achievement that came about even though she was only fourteen and had no previous acting experience to her name.
Today, the show is seen as groundbreaking television. It captivated the interest of millions of millennials when it first aired, as viewers were drawn to the characters’ wild sex adventures, frequent substance abuse, and habitual truancy from school.
Despite being a satirical piece, audiences found a strong connection with the ‘authentic’ characters and their portrayal of teenage existence in Britain.
The show, developed by Bryan Elsley and his son Jamie Brittain, served as a springboard for several of its stars, including Nicholas Hoult and Kaya Scodelario. These actors have since garnered acclaim with films like Nosferatu and Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen respectively.
In other news, Dev Patel and Daniel Kaluuya, respectively portraying Anwar Kharral and Posh Kenneth, have both been recognized with Oscar nominations this year. Notably, Daniel Kaluuya was awarded the Best Supporting Actor title for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah during the 2021 ceremony.
In April 2008, the final episode with the original cast aired, marking the end of Season 2 titled ‘Final Goodbyes’. You can catch up with Skins on Channel 4.
