Taylor Swift fans lash out after fiancé Travis Kelce viciously slapped at football game

In a surprising turn of events during the NFL’s regular season opener, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, an event that took place in São Paulo, Brazil. However, fans of Taylor Swift are voicing their concerns after a seemingly improper play occurred on the field Friday night.

Kelce, 35, was smacked in the helmet by Chargers player Teair Tart, 28.

After the occurrence, the tight end raised his hands in frustration, yet it was just the team that received a 15-yard penalty from the officials, permitting Tart to continue playing.

Later on, Tart reinforced his initial action by posting a video clip from the discontinued television series of Dave Chappelle. In this skit, Tart mimicked singer Rick James and exclaimed, “What do fingers say to the face when they want to hit? They slap!

Thirty-five-year-old Swift wasn’t present at the game, yet his fans (often referred to as Swifties) who watched it online expressed fury through their comments or actions on YouTube.

‘My son who looked up to you. What a (poop emoji) example you set,’ wrote one angered follower.

One person used a gif of Swift singing her song Mean, using the lyrics ‘why you gotta be so mean.’

‘Anything to be relevant I guess,’ wrote a Swiftie, adding, ‘Enjoy your 5 seconds of fame.’

Another used a gif from the Swift’s Karma video, sharing the lyrics ‘Karma’s a relaxing thought.’

‘I’m here to virtually slap this man with my fellow Swifties,’ stated one incensed onlooker.

However, much of the backlash seemed to be against Swift and her legion of fans.

‘Thank you for upsetting the Swifties, ‘ wrote one fan in praise of Tart’s actions.

‘YOU AMERICA’S FAVORITE,’ stated one follower, adding ‘F the swifts.’

‘You’re my hero,’ claimed another.

neither Kelce nor Swift have made any public statements regarding the event that was witnessed globally.

Since Taylor Swift started dating Travis Kelce in 2023, the number of female viewers for the NFL has significantly increased, now accounting for approximately 47% of its total viewership.

It’s clear that, according to Marissa Solis, the senior vice president of global brand and consumer marketing at the NFL, the Taylor effect undeniably increased our audience, as she mentioned to USA Today in February.

Taylor is greatly admired by our audience, making her an immense symbol for them. However, it’s important to note that our growth with this audience was underway even before Taylor became a part of the picture. In my opinion, she served as a beneficial catalyst and arrived at just the right moment.
