Love Island stars Molly Smith and Tom Clare released an affectionate backstage video showcasing Tom’s heartfelt proposal during their trip to Dubai earlier this week.
The pair discovered their shared affection during the 2024 season of Love Island: All Stars, a competition they ultimately triumphed in jointly. Interestingly, they had each previously participated independently on different seasons before their winning run together.
On Thursday, they publicly announced their joyful engagement, with Molly, aged 31, proudly displaying her large, radiant engagement ring, gifted by Tom, who is 26 years old.
Now, they shared a video that reveals the build-up towards the significant event. As Tom guided her onto the candlelit and illuminated shore, it was evident that something special was about to happen.
After her affirmative response, they too added a violinist and fireworks, prompting Molly to weep and throw herself into Tom’s embrace, when the news was shared.
The loved-up pair captioned the video: ‘Easiest yes ever.’
Molly looked gorgeous in a white silk dress while Tom matched her in a smart ensemble.
Tom and Molly emerged victorious in the All Stars series, making them one of the few couples who have endured through the years since the spin-off shows began.
Friends from Love Island swiftly offered their congratulations, with Tom’s close buddy Casey O’Gorman re-posting it and adding tears emojis to express his joy.
Liberty Poole, Paige Thorne and Luca Bish also offered their best wishes in the comments section.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that in the first season of All Stars, it was Molly and Tom who triumphed as they returned to the show. The remarkable duo of Callum Jones and Eve Gale had to settle for the runner-up position.
In simpler terms, Molly made quite an unexpected entrance, leaving Callum, her former boyfriend, astonished since they crossed paths while filming the winter edition of the show in 2020.
Audience grew attached to the idea of Molly and Callum reviving their three-year old relationship, yet the fitness model chose to nurture a romantic bond with Tom instead.
Weeks following the conclusion of the show, rumors swirled about Callum and Eve’s breakup due to allegations that Callum had been unfaithful to Eve with another woman. However, Callum firmly denied these claims, stating that their relationship had actually ended prior to this alleged incident.
Following her victory at All Stars, Molly has successfully landed a number of high-value partnerships. Among them are collaborations with clothing retailer Boohoo, US-based fitness supplement company Alani Nu, luxury jewellery brand Abbott Lyon, as well as global cosmetics powerhouses L’Oréal Paris and Maybelline.
In an interview with the Daily Mail last year, Molly expressed, “At times, it feels like something might be too good to be true. However, I wouldn’t want to jinx it, but honestly, I can’t find anything wrong in our relationship at the moment.
Moving forward, we plan to formalize our current shared living arrangement by cohabiting officially. For now, we’ve been essentially living together unofficially.
In the past, I’ve found age to be a concern for me, but compared to some individuals I’ve encountered earlier in life who lacked maturity, Tom exhibits a greater degree of it.
At his young age, Tom displays an impressive level of maturity and has always been kinder to me compared to any other person I’ve encountered.
Last summer, the couple purchased their first shared residence, and Molly provided an update on this matter to the Daily Mail at that time.
She expressed that they are more content than ever before, as the process of renovating their lifetime home together feels like an absolute dream fulfilled!

In a jubilant TikTok update, Molly proclaimed, “We’ve just purchased our very first house!” Similarly, on Instagram, she expressed her joy by saying, “A home is where one’s heart resides – We are now proud owners of our brand new residence, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
Additionally, she labeled the newly renovated home of the couple on their account, which states: ‘Prepare for the house remodeling, as it promises to be an excellent one.’
The duo received an abundance of well-wishing messages from their island companions, eagerly expressing their congratulations for the milestone achieved by the couple.
Previously, it was established in a Love Island Aftersun episode that they began sharing residence at Molly’s home in Manchester around last June, as they cohabited together.
Previously, Molly had playfully hinted on her So Wrong It’s Right podcast in April of that year, suggesting that Olivia Attwood might be relocating to live in Molly’s residence in Manchester.
At that point, Tom, residing in Battersea, London along with his closest friend Casey, was frequently visiting both his home and Molly’s.
Molly mentioned earlier: “At present, he resides in Battersea, but he plans to relocate. This likely leaves Casey feeling, ‘Wonderful! He’s mine.’ However, he will be shifting residence with me in Manchester.
It might seem to others as if our relationship progressed quickly, with comments like “oh, it’s quite fast”, but in reality, we’ve spent nearly every day together since the moment we met. Now, he’s essentially a permanent houseguest of mine. Over time, his belongings have gradually found their places in my drawers.
Olivia said: ‘So he’s been moving himself in unofficially.’
Molly joked: ‘Yeah, his had his little plan all along.’
Last year in August, I found myself basking under the warm sun on an idyllic Indian Ocean island, and our presence certainly stirred excitement amongst our observant followers.
Tom subtly suggested that he proposed to Molly when he uploaded a mirror selfie of them on Instagram, accompanied by the caption: ‘My wife.’
In the striking photograph, Tom and Molly, clearly smitten, appeared noticeably sun-kissed. Tom tenderly wrapped his arm around Molly’s waist for the picture.
