DK Metcalf’s revenge game against the Seahawks will open with a rock legend

Kick-off for the NFL season begins this weekend, however, if you’re looking forward to catching the Pittsburgh Steelers in action, you might need to be a bit patient. The team starts their journey away from home in Week 1, but they’ll finally play at their own stadium in Week 2. There’s plenty to get excited about!

Firstly, it’s worth mentioning that DK Metcalf, a wide receiver, will face his previous team, the Seattle Seahawks, for the first time. This offseason, Metcalf requested a trade from Seattle, and they granted it. For some reason, it seems Metcalf didn’t find playing in the grunge city particularly enjoyable.

In 2025, instead of their usual tradition of inviting country singers or choirs for the national anthem, the Steelers are expected to serve up some unexpected excitement to him and his new teammates before the Seahawks game.

Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson appears to be signing the national anthem at the Pittsburgh Steelers home opener

Rather than other musicians, it is anticipated that Bruce Dickinson, the lead vocalist of Iron Maiden, will take on the role. Notably, he will perform the song without any accompanying instruments, allowing only Dickinson’s unique voice to be heard.

In a conversation on the Charismatic Vox podcast, Dickinson revealed, “I’ve got a bit of a surprise coming up. You see, I’ll be performing the national anthem at a Pittsburgh Steelers game.

1. It’s important to note that he didn’t explicitly state his plan for Week 2, but instead gave hints that suggested he would.

2. One might wonder why this announcement was made if he wasn’t actually going to perform at the home opener.

3. Dickinson’s voice, renowned in legend, is exceptionally fitting for the rendition of the national anthem.

As a music enthusiast, I must confess that mastering the tune of our national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” has proven quite challenging for me and many others over the years. Penned by Francis Scott Key, these words were so captivating that someone felt compelled to compose a melody that would stir emotions within listeners – a task successfully accomplished, I might add! The intricate notes of this anthem continue to keep singers on their toes even today.

It appears unlikely that the Iron Maiden frontman, Bruce Dickinson, is the Englishman in question. Instead, it seems he was born to sing American songs. Unfortunately, he won’t be performing during the halftime show this time around. (Although, technically speaking, it isn’t impossible; it’s more of a wish.)
