A popular British TV series, previously starring Dr. Martin (from Doc Martin), is moving to a fresh streaming platform in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The television series “Life Begins,” which was broadcast on ITV from 2004 to 2006, will be available on Netflix starting on Tuesday, September 16.
In a new setup, the popular TV show’s hosts – Alexander Armstrong from Pointless and Caroline Quentin known for Doc Martin – portray characters named Phil and Maggie. The story unfolds as they part ways after a surprising revelation by Phil, who decides to leave for a relationship with another woman.

In the ensuing episodes of the comedy-drama series, Maggie takes steps to rebuild her life, securing employment and diving once more into the world of dating. However, as the story unfolds, the narrative takes a turn, with Maggie experiencing triumphs, while misfortunes befall Phil.
Written by Mike Bullen from “Cold Feet”, this series features Anne Reid who’s known for “Last Tango in Halifax” and Claire Skinner, a notable cast member from “Outnumbered”.

In an earlier appraisal, The Times referred to Life Begins as possessing a bittersweet quality and showcasing a remarkable acting performance by Quentin.
The review states that “Life Begins” could be considered the ideal comedy for people in their forties, serving as a natural successor to the original “Cold Feet”. The show maintains a similar style but progresses with the characters, becoming more mature, slightly melancholic, and reflecting the passage of time.

Netflix has been incorporating several classic ITV shows as of late, one such addition being the initial four seasons of the ITV2 Roman comedy series, “Plebs.” Notably, this show climbed to the third spot on Netflix’s TV rankings soon after its recent introduction.
Last month, the 2012 drama “Mrs. Biggs,” featuring Sheridan Smith and Daniel Mays, was additionally made available on the streaming platform.
Life Begins comes to Netflix on 16 September.
