Sharon Osbourne’s painful dilemma after fulfilling Ozzy’s dying wish to be buried under a crabapple tree in the garden of their sprawling estate

When Ozzy Osbourne requested that his wife and children lay him to rest beneath a crabapple tree in the expansive garden of their Buckinghamshire estate, they consented without delay.

It was, of course, his dying wish and a place where they could remember him.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d rephrase it for you: In my biography published in 2009, “I Am Ozzy,” I expressed a desire to be laid to rest beneath a fruit-bearing tree. The reason? So that my children can press the fruit into wine, and in good spirits, they can indulge freely.

He personally asked Sharon not to cremate him, instead requesting that he be buried in a beautiful garden setting, with a tree – ideally a crabapple tree – placed above his grave.

When the renowned lead singer of Black Sabbath, passed away in July after a prolonged fight against Parkinson’s disease, his devoted wife, Sharon, saw to it that his final wishes were fulfilled.

Now, it’s time to disclose that the heartfelt gesture towards her husband of 43 years, which she undertook, has placed Sharon in a difficult predicament marked by pain.

While Ozzy is interred on the property of Welders House, a Georgian mansion with Grade II listing, situated in the village of Jordans, Buckinghamshire – a place the couple bought in 1993 – their children Aimee, Jack, and Kelly, along with their five grandchildren, have all relocated to Los Angeles, leaving Sharon feeling lonely amidst her grief.

Oh, I simply adore being their loving grandmother! Sharon, at 72, cherishes every moment with my grandchildren: Pearl, Andy Rose, Minnie Theodora, Maple Artemis, and sweet little Sidney. My heart aches when they’re not around, as I long to see them again.

She’s currently facing a difficult decision: either remaining in the UK with Ozzy, or returning to California, where she would be reunited with her dear ones.

According to a reliable insider, Sharon shares that she’s deeply upset because she believed she would continue caring for Ozzy in the U.K. for some time more. She had envisioned her near future there as she took care of him.

‘Now she’s sad, she is lonely, she’s a widow.

For a spell, Kelly, Aimee, and Jack were part of her life, but as time passed, they each followed their own paths due to their busy lives, eventually drifting away from her.

Sharon grapples with the prospect of living without her children, yet it’s deeply distressing for her to leave Ozzy in his resting place unattended.

As a die-hard fan, I’m utterly bewildered! It seems utterly unfathomable that our beloved Ozzy could somehow split himself in two, miraculously appearing in two different locations at once – such dedication would truly be mind-blowing. Yet, the depth of her affection for him is so profound that it leaves me questioning the very boundaries of reality.

She’s completely crushed at the moment; her friends eagerly wish for her to decide on returning to live in the United States as quickly as possible.

As her birthday approaches, I can’t help but feel a pang of concern. She’s someone I admire deeply, and I just know in my heart that she wouldn’t want to celebrate such a special day all on her own. Surrounded by the warmth of her beloved family is where she truly belongs.

Sharon, who collaborated with Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh on the no longer active ITV program “The X Factor,” has an extensive connection network in Los Angeles, as she and Ozzy resided there for twenty years.

The popular reality series, “The Osbournes,” which aired from 2002 to 2005, was mainly recorded at the family’s residence in Beverly Hills – a grand home situated within the upscale Hancock Park community, complete with a private gate.

Despite spending a significant portion of his life in America, Ozzy – originally from Aston, Birmingham, England – had repeatedly expressed his desire to pass away in his homeland. As his health deteriorated, his U.S. real estate was listed for sale with a price tag of $18 million.

Afterward, Sharon took steps to make sure the house they had in the UK, estimated to be around £10 million, would accommodate his growing requirements more effectively.

She devised a strategy to renovate the house, incorporating a ‘rehabilitation area’ to aid in his recovery to walk independently again. A building extension was constructed to accommodate a living quarters for a full-time nurse who would be on-site and available for constant care.

The renovation included a fitness studio focused on wellness and health, an art workshop, and a ‘greenhouse-style’ building for the pool, which had a spa, shower room, and changing facilities.

There’s also a terraced area overlooking the vast garden and a new lake.

In the newly built upper section, you’ll find a loft and a small kitchen area, while the existing fitness center has been expanded.

To ensure Ozzy’s privacy during his fitness routines, a 2.4m tall fence was constructed to shield him from curious onlookers. Additionally, the CCTV surveillance system monitoring their property was enhanced for added security. Also, additional visitor parking spaces were provided, likely intended for any medical professionals or caretakers involved in his care.

But sadly, none of it was needed for very long.

It seems that Sharon and Ozzy, who were planning to go back to the UK in 2024 due to working on a ten-episode reality show titled “Home to Roost,” may have had to adjust their plans. According to some sources, it appears that Ozzy might not be in good enough health to fulfill these commitments.

After a long wait, they came back this past summer, just in time for Ozzy’s last Black Sabbath reunion show at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham – Aston Villa’s home ground. On that memorable night, he shared the stage with his original bandmates: Tony Iommi, Terence ‘Geezer’ Butler, and Bill Ward.

Weeks later, on July 22, he died at home – just as he said he wanted to.

The official records mention three reasons for deaths, which are cardiac arrest, severe heart attack (acute myocardial infarction), and advanced heart disease (coronary artery disease). Additionally, it includes cases of Parkinson’s disease accompanied by autonomic dysfunction.

Despite Ozzy’s long struggle with health issues, following his diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, his sudden demise left many in shock.

Recently, I wrapped up an updated version of my autobiography, a project that’s been close to my heart. This forthcoming publication, due out later this year, is destined to claim the top spots on bestseller lists. Yet, the joy it will bring to readers and the industry will be tempered by my family, who had eagerly anticipated celebrating its release with me, knowing that I wouldn’t be there for the launch.

‘Sharon thought she would have longer with him in the UK,’ said one source.

At July 30, a poignant funeral took place for him, featuring a street procession through Birmingham. Throngs of fans lined the streets, offering a heartfelt farewell as his hearse passed. Subsequently, there was a private burial in Buckinghamshire, an intimate ceremony attended by family members and numerous rock icons.

While Sharon decides on her course of action now, concerns continue to grow for her own health.

After drastically reducing her weight with the aid of the medication Ozempic, she’s now largely reduced to her skeletal structure, finding it challenging to consume adequate food.

As I prepare for our relocation from the vibrant city of Los Angeles to the United Kingdom, I can’t help but reflect on my journey that led me here. In the past, there were times when people noticed a change in my physical appearance, a loss of about three stone, which I experienced before our move. This transformation was achieved under the guidance of a controversial medication that I chose to use.

People close to her have mentioned to me that ‘she’s noticeably smaller than Kylie Minogue these days, almost minuscule.’

Instead of consuming an entire roasted meal, it won’t alter her current state since she’s unable to regain lost weight. People often advise her to conceal her slender arms because they appear tiny. It’s unfortunate.

Now, though, friends are even more concerned for her well-being.

According to a friend, Sharon is experiencing profound sorrow, which often leads to loss of appetite. However, given the situation, it’s crucial that she eats properly.

‘She’s as tough as old boots but she’s an older lady now and she looks so thin.’

It’s been mentioned that although both Kelly and Aimee felt sad about the couple moving away from LA, they stood behind Ozzy in his decisions.

As a lifestyle expert, allow me to share my perspective: While I find myself expressing my reservations in public regarding their plans, I can’t help but wonder if my voice was heard more clearly by my elders.

In his family’s podcast in 2023, he expressed his opinion stating, ‘I was the lone voice in our family, believing it to be a very poor concept.’

They will be so far away from me, Kelly, even the grandkids. It makes me wonder what they’ll occupy themselves with since they’re miles and miles away. Sort of like being stuck at home, I jokingly imagine them wandering around their house.

Indeed, now, say friends of the family, Jack ‘called it right’.

It’s been mentioned that Sharon could potentially return to her old life in Los Angeles, as the house there is still available for purchase. All she needs is a simple phone call and a flight booking to get started again.

Whether she can bear to do so, however, remains to be seen.
