A recent speculation about the next Spider-Man film suggests that Jon Bernthal’s character, The Punisher, may be partnered with a female companion in the movie. However, neither the actor nor the Marvel production team has confirmed this rumor. In the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Bernthal’s Punisher, who was previously featured in Daredevil: Born Again, will share screen time with Tom Holland, Sadie Sink, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, and others.
Punisher’s female sidekick helps him track villains in Spider-Man 4
According to a recent rumor shared by MTTSH on her social media platform X (previously known as Twitter), it’s said that Spider-Man 4 might introduce a female companion for The Punisher.
According to MTTSH’s post, in ‘Spider-Man Brand New Day,’ The Punisher works alongside a female partner to hunt down and attempt to eliminate criminals, including Spider-Man’s adversaries. Currently, they are filming intense action sequences featuring these two engaging in high-stakes pursuits.
However, these details are just rumors, and nothing about the plot has been made public yet.
Earlier, there were whispers about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man forming an alliance with The Punisher to fight Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. Yet, another set of rumors hint that Spider-Man and The Punisher may clash in the movie instead, as Spider-Man tries to prevent The Punisher from executing Michael Mando’s Scorpion.
In a recently viral video from the Spider-Man: Fresh Start set, officers pursued a tank that was supposedly being operated by The Punisher. While numerous speculations about the plot of Spider-Man 4 are circulating online, only that it will be more grounded in reality has been verified thus far.
In a roundtable discussion held in July 2025, Feige stated that for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man tales, we see him playing the role of a true Spider-Man. This includes him independently focusing on safeguarding the city and handling ordinary street crimes, rather than the apocalyptic events he encountered while collaborating with other characters.
