Andrew Lincoln, 50, ‘delighted’ fans still want to see him naked onscreen but admits his teenage children are ‘not speaking to him’ following latest X-rated role

Andrew Lincoln expressed his pleasure that fans continue to wish for him to be nude on screen even at the age of fifty; however, his teenage kids seem less enthused about this possibility.

Actors from “The Walking Dead” have bared it all for various roles during their careers. Recently, this actor was seen performing a private act as his character in the latest ITV thriller “Coldwater.” Notably, this is the actor’s first UK television role in 15 years.

Andrew admitted that his teenage children, Matilda, aged 17, and Arthur, 15, whom he has with his wife Gael Anderson, have yet to speak to him following his advance notice about his upcoming explicit film part.

I asked Arthur, “Would you be okay with me performing an intimate act on live TV?” To which he responded, “Your guess is as good as mine.

He went on to say, ‘Ever since I completed the job, my children haven’t spoken to me. My son asked me, ‘Couldn’t you have held off for three years until I finished school?”

Andreementioned that he, too, steers clear of viewing himself on-screen, delegating such tasks to his spouse Gaelle, who has endorsed his recent provocative character portrayal.

He told The Times: ‘Look, I’m just thrilled that people are still asking me to get naked at 50,’

Previously, Gael held the position as an assistant to Gwyneth Paltrow. It’s also worth mentioning that she is the child of Ian Anderson, who serves as both the lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist in Jethro Tull.

In 1976, Ian got married to his mother Shona Learoyd, often recognized as a strikingly attractive and well-educated daughter of a prosperous wool manufacturer, according to Rolling Stone magazine’s description at the time.

In the year 2006, Gael’s own wedding was a glamorous event, featuring Apple Martin, the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, serving as the flower girl.

As an utterly devoted admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement for the forthcoming drama! In this masterpiece, our beloved Andrew embodies a middle-aged character named John, residing in the heart of London. Beneath his calm exterior, there’s a simmering anger that brews as he navigates life as a stay-at-home dad – a secret fire burning deep within him!

In addition to the main actors, Ewen Bremner from Trainspotting, Indira Varma known for Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Eve Myles famous for Keeping Faith are also part of this production.

The story goes that when John, inexplicably failing to intervene during a violent altercation at a playground, finds himself grappling with an identity crisis. To escape this predicament and find solace as far removed from London as feasible, he decides to relocate his family to the peaceful countryside retreat of Coldwater.

Upon reaching the fictional Scottish village of Coldwater, John is soon welcomed by his neighbor Tommy (Bremner), a charismatic and self-assured individual, who is deeply married to the local vicar Rebecca (Myles).

He is a devout individual, a respected figure within the community, and an unofficial head of the male literary club in the village.

John is both impressed and slightly fascinated by Tommy but his wife Fiona (Varma) despises him.

In Coldwater, Fiona, a previous accomplished chef, views this new endeavor as a chance to break away from their old life and start fresh, leaving the past behind.

Rebuilding their family life together, while also rekindling the once vibrant love that seemed to fade away in their marriage.

As Fiona’s husband grows more involved with their mysterious new neighbor, Fiona begins to harbor doubts about whether Tommy is truly who he appears to be. Her suspicions deepen over time.

David Ireland, both writer and originator of the series, expressed that Cold Water originated from a personal query he had: “Should I reside in the tranquil countryside or the bustling city?

A seemingly innocent start, yet it evolved into a captivating, humorous, and macabre thriller that I was overjoyed to see Sister appreciates the script for, and even more so when ITV agreed to produce it.

I must say, it’s simply astounding that we were able to assemble such an exceptional group of actors, with the incomparable Andrew Lincoln leading the way. I truly believe that audiences will find this production captivating.

Coldwater airs on ITV1 and ITVX on September 14
