In simpler terms, after his initial movie set in the London Underground titled “Creep,” British horror director Smith released “Severance,” a captivating mix of comedic office dynamics from “The Office” and the raw survival elements of “Deliverance.” The story unfolds as a corporate team-building retreat in a secluded forest takes an unexpectedly grim turn. Martin Dyer delivers a standout performance as the troublesome office worker Steve, alongside a talented cast that includes Laura Harris known for “Scaredy Cats” and “The Faculty,” Tim McInnerny recognized from films like “One Day,” “Notting Hill,” and “Game of Thrones,” Toby Stephens famous for “Die Another Day” and “13 Hours,” as well as BAFTA-nominated actor Andy Nyman who has appeared in “Judy,” “Ghost Stories,” and “Kick-Ass 2.” All actors deliver exceptional performances.
