Charlie Sheen expresses appreciation that Jon Cryer, his ex-costar from Two and a Half Men, has consented to feature in his forthcoming Netflix documentary.
The seasoned actor reflects on his stormy journey in a two-part documentary named “Charlie Sheen: A Look Back,” delving into his career trajectory, from early success in Hollywood to the notorious 2011 drug incident that led to him being dismissed from the popular CBS sitcom and subsequently replaced by Ashton Kutcher.
In my professional perspective, the repercussions from that particular situation truly widened the gap between Sheen, Cryer, and me, as the show’s creator – Chuck Lorre. This unfortunate event left Cryer and myself to navigate through the turmoil, working diligently to restore order and keep the show running amidst the chaos.
Despite Sheen and Lorre making peace afterwards, their relationship with Cryer remains strained, as evidenced by his statement on Bill Maher’s podcast in January, saying they have “no relationship” with Sheen.
However, the performer was also involved in the documentary and shared his insights about the demise of Two and a Half Men.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that statement like this: Reflecting on my own journey, having been clean and sober for eight years now, I can certainly empathize with Cryer’s lingering feelings of discomfort. After all, our shared history of addictions significantly impacted our successful show in the past.

Sheen shared with People that it was deeply insightful to learn about events from his point of view, given that he was right in the thick of things amidst all the nonsense happening. It significantly impacted him, his family, career, and more, and I can’t argue with anything he expressed.
Sheen noted that Cryer’s remarks were considerate, and he extended gratitude towards him – however, he hasn’t received a response as of yet.
Sheen mentioned, “It seems I may have texted the incorrect number. Jon is usually quick to respond, so his silence here is unusual for him as he’s always very responsible.
‘So if you’re reading this, Jon, DM me your new number!’
In the January installment of his Club Random podcast, Maher directly inquired, “How is your current connection with Charlie?
Cryer replied, ‘I don’t know. We don’t have a relationship anymore.’
Afterward, it was pointed out that Sheen and Lorre have managed to patch things up. In fact, Sheen has made guest appearances on Lorre’s comedy series, Bookies.
For more than ten years, Sheen and Lorre didn’t exchange words following their disagreement, which originated in 2011 when Sheen publicly referred to Lorre as both “stupid” and an “unpleasant insect” in a number of widely reported outbursts.

As for Lorre, he previously gushed about reuniting with his old pal for the show Bookie.
‘I don’t want to be too mawkish about it, but it was healing,’ Lorre said in 2024.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me share a fascinating anecdote from behind the scenes. Initially, I felt a wave of nerves, but as our conversation unfolded, it was as if time had warped us back to our old selves – friends reunited, as if no time had passed at all.
Lorre said he got to a place where their feud is now considered ‘old news’.
Charlie was great to work with during our time on ‘Two and a Half Men’. Lorre mentioned that we collaborated on an impressive 170 episodes before things ultimately came to an end.
2021 saw Sheen acknowledge that he could have managed the situation differently, numbering around 55 alternative methods, excluding referring to Lorre as terms such as ‘coward’ or ‘jester.’
He said to Yahoo! News that for him, the post-crisis development – whether called growth, progress, or something else – must begin with taking full responsibility for my part in everything that happened. He also expressed that this behavior was quite immature.
In the year 2018, during an interview on The Today Show, Sheen acknowledged and accepted accountability for their severe rift, also expressing a wish to mend their connection.

At the time, the father-of-five ‘really’ wanted ‘to mend’ things with Lorre.
He resides nearby. I can simply swing by, leave a note with my phone number under his door. It would be appropriate to do so, and I intend to.
Discussing a potential revival of the comedic television series that earned him the title of highest-paid actor in America, he expressed his willingness towards the prospect, stating, “It would surely be exhilarating to bring back this show.
Earlier, Lorre had confessed that for a few years, he found it difficult to watch Two and a Half Men because it was painful for him to do so.
