The Australian footballer Aaron Mooy, who is now retired from soccer, along with his wife Nicola, purchased an exquisite property in the Byron Bay area for approximately $5.2 million.
Nestled within a wilderness area, approximately 5 kilometers away from the bustling town of Bangalow, and 755 kilometers from Sydney, lies a spacious ten-year-old residence boasting five bedrooms and two bathrooms.
I, a passionate football enthusiast, proudly acquired an ultra-contemporary property along the northern shore of New South Wales this past July. This came shortly after I parted ways with my previous abode, a $3.6 million residence in Ewingsdale, which I had sold earlier this year.
Mooy took a loss on the sale, settling for $2.85 million, according to The Daily Telegraph.
In the meantime, his new residence is situated in a remote, rural area that spans approximately 1.62 hectares.
Boasting stunning views of the surrounding bushland, the spread is bordered by an elegant hedgerow.

In this beautifully designed residence by an architect, the principal living spaces flow seamlessly towards a sheltered terrace intended for entertaining, offering stunning views of a lush, tree-dotted landscape beyond.
Notable features encompass an outdoor pool accompanied by a deck, expansive wall-to-wall windows, distinctive sandstone accent walls, a dedicated workspace, and a spacious kitchen complete with a butler’s pantry.
There’s also a space separate from the main dwelling that hosts a media room and workshop.
As a devoted enthusiast, I can’t help but gush about the primary sanctuary that commands an entire corner of this abode! This stunning retreat boasts a dreamy walk-in closet and a luxurious private bathroom, complete with all the indulgent amenities one could ever desire. Simply heavenly!
Three years ago, Mooy astounded sports enthusiasts by announcing his retirement from playing soccer permanently.
In a shocking move that reverberated across the globe of football in June 2023, the star player, who had represented the Socceroos in 57 games, abruptly declared his retirement from both international and club football, effectively concluding an illustrious career marked by numerous accolades.
Aaron Mooy, at 32 years old, notched seven goals for Australia from 2012 to 2022, and he graced the field during two FIFA World Cup tournaments as well.
Previously, the skilled midfielder in the English Premier League concluded his remarkable club journey with a brief, trophy-rich spell at the formidable Celtic, managed by ex-coach of the Australian national team, Ange Postecoglou.

In his statement, Mooy expressed gratitude for having the opportunity to realize his dream of representing Australia on the soccer field.
Growing up as a child who loved football, I used to dream of playing for the national team after watching them on TV. Now, being able to experience that reality is something I am deeply thankful for.
2023 World Cup marked the last match Aaron Mooy played for Australia, which unfortunately ended in a round-of-16 defeat against Argentina – his seventh participation in this tournament.
Kicking off his professional journey in Europe, Mooy experienced a meteoric rise to fame during the 2015-16 season at Melbourne City. During that period, he scored 11 goals and set an A-League record with 20 assists, demonstrating exceptional performance.
He scored nine goals and notched six assists in 96 Premier League appearances across two clubs.
As a die-hard admirer I’d say, “I, being starstruck, crossed paths with my beloved partner Nicola in the vibrant city of Glasgow. Our hearts united in matrimony in 2017. We’re blessed with two radiant bundles of joy – our 10-year-old daughter Skylar and our spirited seven-year-old son Maximilian.
