The company, Disney, has decided to compensate $10 million as part of a resolution with the Federal Trade Commission over allegations that they breached child privacy regulations.
On Tuesday, it was announced that a resolution has been made regarding videos published by Disney on YouTube which were incorrectly classified. This oversight enabled the videos to attract online ads, catching the scrutiny of government regulatory bodies due to the nature of the content.
The company said the violations did not occur on Disney-owned platforms.
Ensuring the welfare and security of children and their families is our core focus,” a representative from Disney stated. “With a history of adhering to the highest child privacy regulations, Disney continues to prioritize resources for staying at the forefront of these matters.
