For approximately fifteen years, Josh Duhamel has converted a secluded woodland plot he purchased in Minnesota into his ideal self-sufficient retreat or “doomsday cabin.
Last Saturday, the Daytime Emmy winner who is 52 years old shared insights about how resilient his secluded lake home would be during a hypothetical catastrophe, located approximately 40 minutes away from urban centers.
‘Well, I have enough. Not 100 percent. Probably 70 percent,’ Josh told People.
I have room for improvement as both a hunter and a fisherman. I could also benefit from building up my food storage a bit more.”
This version attempts to maintain the original meaning while using more natural language and avoiding repetition of the word “could,” which can sometimes sound formal or stilted in everyday conversation. The phrase “have room for improvement” is used instead of “I could be a better,” and “benefit from building up my food storage” replaces “I could stockpile a little more food supply.” These changes make the sentence flow more smoothly and read more easily.
Duhamel further explained, “Some might label this as doomsday prepping, but it’s quite different. In truth, I am more about sticking to my roots, returning to essentials, and honing the fundamental skills required.
In simpler terms, the creator-actor of “Off the Grid” referred to the gradual development and expansion of his 26-acre rural property as a kind of ‘calling’, even though he had issues with mice.

but I feel a deep inner pull saying”)
‘After spending too much time away from practical work, I yearned to get back to doing hands-on tasks – repairing, creating, and simply enjoying the essential activities that often go unappreciated.’
This past weekend, Duhamel marked the 12th birthday celebration of his oldest child, son Axl Jack, who was born during Duhamel’s eight-year union with eight-time Grammy award winner Fergie. Their marriage concluded in 2019.
‘We had a blast at Legoland today,’ the Dakota Media co-founder gushed on Instagram.
‘Thank you for making these the best 12 years of my life, kid. I love you.’
Simultaneously, a 50-year-old former pop star uploaded a series of photos on Instagram, showcasing unique memories she has created with her “younger teenage companion.
Fergie (Stacy Ferguson) was thrilled to observe your growing independence and the compassionate person you have become,” or more casually, “Fergie (Stacy Ferguson) couldn’t help but express her pride in watching you become more independent and kind-hearted.
Unveiling all your passions and witnessing your development fills me with immense delight…I feel incredibly fortunate to be your mother. Here’s to a marvelous 12th year, my dear punk! I adore you.
Come September 10th, Josh and his wife Audra Mari will be marking their third wedding anniversary. They are joyful parents to a 19-month-old boy named Shepherd Lawrence.
In a twist of fate, Duhamel, who hails from North Dakota, is 21 years senior to the Miss World America 2016, yet they find common ground in their shared roots from the same state.

In July last year, the actor known for Transformers completed the final adjustments on his third directorial project, titled Preschool, which is currently undergoing post-production.
Initially, Josh is both the executive producer and leads the character of assassin Tommy Ward in Allan Ungar’s action-comedy “London Calling”. This film will premiere in American theaters on September 19, featuring Aidan Gillen, Jeremy Ray Taylor, and Rick Hoffman as co-stars.
In addition to serving as an executive producer, Duhamel takes on the role of the resolute rancher Staten Kirkland in April Blair’s romantic western series, Ransom Canyon. This show was granted a second season by Netflix back in June.
This ex-soap actor has more movies in the pipeline. They are Joe Carnahan’s survival suspense film titled “Not Without Hope”, David Lipper’s murder mystery thriller series called “The Neglected”, and Patrick Brice’s comedy about drugs entitled “Full Throttle Mindset”.
Josh, boasting a massive following of 10.4 million across various social media platforms, is indeed an influential figure. He partners with well-known brands such as CarGurus, Airbnb, Bobcat Company, Original Penguin Sports, and Gatlan for paid collaborations.
