Jodie Foster, 62, flashes her gray roots while going makeup free… after being a Hollywood blonde for decades

Jodie Foster did not seem to mind flashing her gray hair over the weekend.

At the 2025 Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, held on a Saturday, the actress who won an Oscar was spotted sporting silver highlights and dark golden tresses.

Instead of deliberately concealing the gray streaks in her hair, the 62-year-old film legend chose not to use headbands or hats and appeared to embrace the natural transformation in the color of her hair proudly.

The wife of Alexandra Hedison also went makeup-free as her natural good looks were on display.

Foster adorned her outfit with a white denim jacket featuring front pockets, layered on top of a striped blue and beige shirt. She paired this look with acid-washed blue denim pants.

She sported a stylish black-and-cream scarf looped gracefully around her neck, and adorned herself with tiny gold hoop earrings. Completing the look, she carried a sleek black leather handbag featuring a golden zipper across her body.

In May Foster said she was too ‘busy’ to take a cameo in the Disney sequel ‘Freakier Friday’.

In the original 1976 comedy about body swapping, the actress played the young main role. At that time, she was already engaged in another movie project. However, when given an opportunity to be part of the remake of that film, she accepted it.

In an interview with Variety, regarding her latest film, Vie Privée (a French production), which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, Jodie shared: “I was immersed in working on this project.

‘But Jamie Lee Curtis is a really good friend of mine. I followed the shoot and all that stuff.’

The upcoming sequel features Jamie Lee Curtis, at 66 years old, and Lindsay Lohan, now 38, returning to their characters Tess and Anna Coleman, originally portrayed in the 2003 film ‘Freaky Friday’, which was a modern adaptation of the 1976 production.

Jodie starred as the teenage lead in that version opposite Barbara Harris.

Jodie often pondered about her initial foray into the world of entertainment and the complex dynamics she encountered within acting.

She expressed, “I wouldn’t have opted for an acting career.” She further mentioned, “Given a chance, I might have been a writer, artist, or sculptor instead. However, this is the talent I possess.

Jodie started acting at the tender age of three, quickly earning notable fame as a young talent. Later on, she continued her successful journey into an esteemed career as a mature performer.

As a child, I worked extensively. By the time I turned 18, I realized it was necessary for me to change my strategy,” she stated.

The Academy Award-winning actress, with two wins under her belt, likewise discussed the reason behind her infrequent involvement in comedic roles, especially within English-speaking movie productions.

She mentioned that she doesn’t enjoy performing comedies in English. She suspects this might be due to the fact that American-made comedies often lack nuance and intellectual depth, which are crucial elements for her.

Jodie mentioned that she often loses interest in comedy after a week, stating, “It feels like these comedies have run their course by then. After about a week, I find myself thinking, ‘Is it possible to wrap this up now?’ Comedies seem to be more challenging to create compared to dramas.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly back in April 2025, Director Nisha Ganatra revealed that the filmmakers pleaded with Jodie to take part in ‘Freakier Friday’, but ultimately understood she had no intention of joining the project.
