As a passionate film lover myself, I’ve noticed that today’s TV enthusiasts can be downright zealous – and it seems like social media has played a significant role in reducing the sense of embarrassment or guilt that might have once held people back. It’s easy to assume that this behavior is more prevalent among younger generations, but that doesn’t quite reflect my personal experience with the adoring fanbase of the beloved Yellowstone franchise, as star Cole Hauser has shared his encounters with overly enthusiastic older fans who have crossed boundaries.
Eager fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Rip Wheeler, played by Hauser, on television screens following the final episode of Yellowstone, as both he and co-star Kelly Reilly will reprise their roles in the forthcoming Beth and Rip spinoff series. Remarkably, they are now filming this new spinoff in North Texas, alongside another new addition to the franchise, Annette Bening. During a tasting event for his Lazy K Bar Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Hauser spoke about this upcoming project.
In relation to discussions about alcohol, the veteran from “Dazed and Confused” acknowledged that it often lessens fans’ inhibitions when he’s present, leading some to become touchy-feely. He opened up about this in an interview with Page Six.
I’ve had some old women grab my ass. It’s been a little bit … a little bit strange.
The actor may choose to avoid discussing the specific ages of the women he mentions during his stories about wild fan interactions, opting for a more cryptic approach instead. To put it simply, one might speculate that he’s talking about ancient Egyptian princesses miraculously coming back to life, just to stay on the safe side.
To set the record straight, I, as a film enthusiast, want to clarify that my remarks regarding certain encounters with female fans don’t generalize all women I’ve met. I do believe, however, that alcohol can sometimes fuel such bold, boundary-pushing behavior in some individuals. In my own words:
“I’m not implying all women are the same due to specific experiences I’ve had. However, I can’t deny that alcohol has a way of bringing out such daring, over-the-line conduct in certain situations.
Generally speaking, people have been quite courteous, but I’ve noticed that when some older women have had a couple of drinks, they tend to become more assertive.
Even though the actor who plays Yellowstone’s character is married to one of TV’s most confident female characters, fans should refrain from fantasizing about physical interactions with him. It’s important to remember that Hauser has been married to Cynthia Daniel since 2006. While it wouldn’t be appropriate even if he were single, the point is still clear.
Cole Hauser is set to join forces once more with Matthew McConaughey, his co-star from D&C, for a fresh Netflix production helmed by Nic Pizzolatto, the mind behind True Detective. In this new endeavor, they will be portraying siblings on screen. It’s intriguing to think about the numerous anecdotes McConaughey might have encountered with fans of all ages admiring his backside. However, I prefer not to delve into such imagery.
The Yellowstone spinoff starring Beth and Rip, which is being produced right now, is likely to begin streaming on Paramount+ subscription service in early 2026. However, there’s a possibility that it could premiere as late as December, if the post-production process takes longer than expected.
