The NLC Summer 2025 Grand Finale was packed with excitement. It featured the emergence of Leagues Disrupt, Rekkles’ homecoming to Sweden following a ten-year absence, and Baus’s performance on K’Sante.
As I sit here, basking in the glow of my latest victory, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride knowing that I’m part of Los Ratones – arguably the best “stream team” out there. This summer, we took over the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) 2025, sweeping every opponent before us and claiming yet another trophy to add to our growing collection. It feels amazing to be a part of such an unstoppable force in the gaming world!
Los Ratones in the NLC 2025 Summer
Without a doubt, you’re already familiar with this renowned team. If you’re deeply involved in the League of Legends Esports scene, or just an enthusiast of the game itself, chances are you’ve come across their name. You might be one of their avid supporters, or even part of their fanbase, dubbed as a “rat”!
During the group phase of NLC 2025 Summer, team LR ruled the round robin tournament. They found themselves competing alongside Verdant, who they later discovered would be their opponent in the grand final. Throughout the group stage, LR emerged victorious with a perfect record of 4 wins, no losses (4-0). Meanwhile, Verdant managed to secure second place with a 3-1 tally, but unfortunately for them, their lone defeat was inflicted by none other than team LR.
In simpler terms, the team known as LR lost just one match during the playoffs, which was against NORD Esports, featuring Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski. Despite this, LR managed to win the series against them and moved on to the upper bracket final. There, they faced off against Rich Gang Esports who were also unbeaten in their group stage. LR handed them their first defeat, with Verdant losing shortly after.
Thus, Verdant remained the only team standing in Los Ratones’ way of another trophy.
Leagues Disrupt, Rekkles’ return to Sweden
Over the past few years, the grand finals of the NLC have taken on a more grandiose character due to increased interest in the league. Notably, it was staged at the Hovet Arena in Sweden, an arena that holds special significance for Carl Martin Erik “Rekkles” Larsson, a supporter of LR.

Approximately ten years ago, almost to the day, the 2015 EULCS Summer Finals took place in the same arena. In the third match of the best-of-five grand final against Origen, Rekkles – who was then Fnatic’s AD Carry at the time – scored a pentakill that shifted the game’s momentum.
In addition to being the climactic event, this grand final marked the debut of Leagues Disrupt – a bold, live spectacle that promises to unite top-tier gaming action, entertainment, influencers, and fan interaction in a manner unprecedented thus far.
The ‘Leagues Disrupt’ event is going to offer an unprecedented esports spectacle across the Nordic region. It provides an opportunity for enthusiasts to unite, cheer on their preferred teams, and be part of a shared experience during the NLC finals as one community.

During the intermission at the Leagues Disrupt event, the popular South Korean girl band PRIMROSE took center stage. This group has garnered a substantial following among Swedish fans.
LR’s golden road, Baus on K’Sante
At the entrance, Rekkles, alongside Swedish top-laner Simon “Baus” Hofverberg and the rest of Los Ratones, were greeted by thousands of enthusiastic fans. However, before this public display, they had endured several weeks of contentious practice sessions.
It appears that the team managed to work out their issues, much to the satisfaction of coach Marc “Caedrel” Lamont, as LR displayed a strong performance on stage.
In the initial matches, Los Ratones played their usual classic style. However, by the third game, when Los Ratones were leading 2-0, they decided to bring K’Sante into play for Baus. This move took many by surprise, but Caedrel disclosed that he encouraged K’Sante practice to expand Baus’ champion repertoire. Meanwhile, streamer NoArmWhatley remained calm, even showing signs of relief. He had been keeping secret Baus’ consistent K’Sante practice in Arena for some time.

Despite some doubts about the ethics involved, Baus and Los Ratones continued their unchallenged reign over Verdant. Swiftly, they claimed the trophy, making them three-time consecutive NLC champions. Their next destination is the EMEA Masters Summer 2025, where they aim to complete their “winning streak” or “golden journey.
LR AD Carry Juš “Crownie” Marušič was awarded the NLC Summer 2025 Finals MVP award.
