Huge Hollywood star trades acting for pulling pints as he volunteers at his local Wiltshire pub – but can YOU guess who it is?

A well-known actor from Hollywood is now serving beer instead of acting on screen, as he chose to volunteer at a local pub in Wiltshire.

As a devoted admirer, I must share the news that the cherished haven we all know as The Swan in Enford had to temporarily cease operations back in June. Regrettably, the proprietor disclosed that an escalation in operational costs made it untenable to continue serving us.

However, since those closures, local residents have rallied together to ensure the pub remains operational and transitioned it into community ownership. It now serves as the last remaining facility for the village, following the closure of the post office, garage, store, and bakery.

One local supporting The Swan’s cause is acclaimed BAFTA actor Rupert Everett, taking up the role as a voluntary bartender.

Last week, the pub posted on Instagram a picture of their friendly neighbor and renowned actor Rupert Everett, who’s 66, enjoying a stint as a bartender there, serving drinks!

We’re extremely grateful to him for assisting us in becoming part of an exceptional group of volunteers who have been relentlessly working to protect the Swan. We owe him a lot.

They attributed the statement to Rupert: “Our community has made a remarkable effort to keep this pub operating. It’s tough times for rural taverns, and this establishment serves as the heart and center of our village.

It’s crucial for me to show my backing, and this is why I’ve recently become a member of CAMRA – the Campaign for Real Ale. I strongly believe that traditional ales play an essential role in keeping our local pubs alive, not just here but across the country as well.

Let’s rally together to aid our smaller community breweries; the traditional English craft of cask ale should persist – it holds a special place as nearly an exclusive British custom.

The pub added: ‘Thanks so much Rupert! What a local hero.’

In the meantime, Steve Stringer, who serves as secretary for CAMRA’s Salisbury and south Wiltshire branch, shared with The Times his thoughts: “The locals were saddened by its potential closure and hoped to maintain operations.

A collection of individuals joined forces to renovate the garden and the pub. They’ve made improvements like repainting it, and they established a team of 30 people to manage the bar, with Rupert Everett being one of them.

‘He definitely wants to be part of it because it’s the heart of the village,’ he added.

Following the announcement that Rupert would star alongside Hayley Atwell on the show, he unexpectedly appeared at Dame Jilly Cooper’s cast party, who is a writer for Rivals.

Actress Hayley Atwell, famous for her role in Mission Impossible, is set to portray Helen Gordon – the former spouse of Rupert Campbell-Black and the mother of their two kids, Marcus and Tabitha, in an upcoming production.

Acting as Napoleon, Rupert Everett prepares to step into the shoes of Malise Gordon, who was once Campbell Black’s equestrian trainer and guide.

As a lifestyle expert, I couldn’t be more ecstatic to welcome Hayley and Rupert into our Rivals family, as they take on the iconic roles of Helen and Malise Gordon, masterfully penned by the inimitable Jilly Cooper. It’s an absolute pleasure to have them breathe life into these legendary characters!

Additionally, in the second season of Rivals, we proudly present an array of exceptional new talents alongside our highly acclaimed returning cast members. This series highlights the remarkable skills of both British and Irish performers at their best.

Looking forward to revealing more star-studded surprises, we eagerly anticipate unveiling the future escapades of Rutshire’s inhabitants!

In the earlier part of this year, Rupert admitted that he has been experiencing feelings of guilt over his past manipulative behavior towards his ex-colleagues.

In 1981, the British thespian gained widespread recognition after securing a role in both the play and movie adaptation of Julian Mitchell’s work titled “Another Country.” Set in an English boarding school during the 1930s, he portrayed a student who was openly gay. This powerful performance earned him a BAFTA nomination.

But now the star has opened up about regrets regarding his conduct in former years.

In certain situations at my workplace, I found myself not liking someone and intentionally behaving unkindly towards them, as acknowledged by the main character of My Best Friend’s Wedding.

In the past, and even currently, I’ve struggled with feelings of insecurity which led me to occasionally engage in dishonest actions at work. Additionally, I found myself frequently irritable towards others, resulting from unnecessary tension.

In those types of circumstances, I tended to be quite cunning, and I wasn’t fully aware of the potency of my sharp words.
