Channel 10 news presenter reveals her very bizarre coffee order – so would YOU drink it?

Channel 10 newsreader Sharyn Ghidella has shocked her fans with her bizarre coffee order

The 58-year-old woman, now working for Channel 10’s 5pm news in Queensland following her dismissal from 7News last year, admitted that she regularly mixes apple juice into her morning coffee.

As a coffee enthusiast who only discovered the magic of java four years back, I must confess that my unusual coffee order is a lifesaver for me. It’s all about staying wide-awake and powering through long days as a seasoned journalist!

‘I was quite the enigma during my time on breakfast TV,’ she told the Courier Mail.

Many found it hard to comprehend my routine. I was among the rare individuals who managed to thrive, beginning work at 3 am without relying on caffeine.

In order to stay alert, I concocted an unusual drink that neither others appreciate nor fully comprehend.”

“To keep myself awake, I mixed together a strange concoction that most people find odd and don’t care for.

‘I don’t claim to understand it either, but it does give me a boost,’ she added.

In July 2024, the news anchor affiliated with a Queensland network found themselves out of work at 7News, following a series of layoffs within the media industry. After 17 years on the job, this change occurred.

Weeks later, Sharyn announced her prized new gig at Channel 10.

Moving forward, her shift to the network will enable the return of the 10 News First program to its Brisbane production studios following a prolonged period where it was broadcasted from Sydney.

In simpler terms, Sharyn referred to her latest job as a return to Network 10, where she started her broadcasting career for local news in 1990 – a full-circle moment for her.

‘I wonder if my security tag still works,’ she joked in a video announcing the news.

‘Returning to 10 News First feels like coming home,’ the veteran broadcaster added in a statement.

In the early ’90s, Network 10 provided me with my initial significant opportunity in my career. Now, returning to deliver local news services for Queensland residents is an absolute thrill that words can hardly express.

At the recent Logies event, held last month, the news anchor openly expressed her contentment regarding her fresh assignment. She shared with reporters that her previous position at her former network was truly satisfying.

Born and raised in the town of Babinda, located in North Queensland, Sharyn subsequently pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Business Communications in the city of Brisbane. With this education behind her, she embarked on a professional journey within the field of journalism.

At the age of 24, she got hired by Channel 10’s newsroom in Brisbane to work as a field reporter and news updates presenter.

In 1992, Sharyn joined Sydney’s Nine Network and frequently appeared as a newscaster on their Morning Show. Later, in 2007, she switched to the Seven Network.

She announced on Facebook that she had been let go from her job, sharing that she discovered her position had been terminated during a visit to the hair salon.
