Reacher star Alan Ritchson addresses Batman rumours: “Words have been exchanged”

Reacher star Alan Ritchson has addressed rumours that he could be the next Batman.

In my excitement as a dedicated fan, I can’t help but share that the character previously portrayed by Robert Pattinson is now available for a new actor to step into, in the highly anticipated reboot of James Gunn’s DC Universe!

In 2023, it was revealed that Gunn was planning a fresh Batman film, entitled “The Brave and the Bold.” This new production was intended to stand independently from Robert Pattinson’s previously established portrayal of the Dark Knight character.

Ever since then, there’s been lots of talk about who might don the black cape next. Rumors even suggest that Ritchson could potentially be a contender.

It’s no secret that James Gunn is a fan of me. He admitted as much himself. And let me tell you, I’m definitely a fan of James Gunn too.

He clarified that he doesn’t want to deceive anyone regarding Batman. There has been some discussion about it, but he firmly believes that Batman won’t be part of his plans moving forward.

Even though he doesn’t dismiss the possibility, Ritchson has expressed his desire for a role in the DC Universe at some point in the future.

He mentioned that he believes there’s a possibility for him with DC in the future, and he hopes this will continue.

Currently, Ritchson’s action-packed film titled “Motor City” made its debut at the Venice Film Festival. This story, set in 1970s Detroit, focuses on John Miller (Ritchson), an ex-convict driven by revenge as he was falsely accused and framed by a local criminal figure.

Regarding the nearly wordless movie, the actor commented: “This film is exceptionally unique and artistic in its own right. It’s quite daring to forgo dialogue entirely, but my aim is to make it appealing to a wide audience, not just a select few. I believe we have managed to strike that balance.

Reacher streams on Prime Video.
