Pixar shared a schedule detailing their upcoming movies that will hit theaters up until 2028, offering fans a glimpse into what’s to come. Known for its highs and lows recently, with some financial disappointments amidst successful films such as Inside Out 2, which ranks among the top-earning movies ever made, Pixar’s team seems determined to continue their creative journey. They are currently working on several significant projects that are in development stages.
At Destination D23, Pixar revealed their future movie schedule that extends to 2028 and beyond. Their most recent release in 2025 was Elio, which garnered mixed opinions upon its June 20 premiere. The upcoming slate features three continuations of established Pixar series, as well as two brand new tales making their debut.
Ahead are all five movies in Pixar’s confirmed movie slate through 2028 and beyond:
All 5 Pixar Movies Releasing Through 2028
Hoppers

Coming up next in Pixar’s lineup is a new movie called “Hoppers.” Daniel Chong, who has been part of Pixar’s Creative Team since 2020, makes his directorial debut with this film. The cast includes Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, and Jon Hamm.
Narrative about Hoppers unfolds around a team of brilliant scientists who devise a revolutionary method for transferring human consciousness into lifelike animal forms. This innovation sets the stage for Mabel, a young individual, to assume control of a robotic beaver and thwart a destructive plan by a construction company intent on demolishing a precious local wildlife sanctuary.
Hoppers will be released in theaters on March 6, 2026.
Toy Story 5

In 2026, Pixar is planning a legacy sequel for its debut film, with “Toy Story 5” poised to be their summer hit. This movie will once again be penned and helmed by Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton. It’s anticipated that many of the original Toy Story cast members will reprise their roles, including Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Wallace Shawn as Rex, and John Ratzenberger as Hamm.
In the next installment of “Toy Story 5”, the storyline focuses on the conflict between traditional toys and advanced technology. The character Bonnie, who we met in “Toy Story 3” and “4”, develops an interest in a high-tech toy, which sets off a new challenge for our beloved original toys. As they grapple with their role in a world that seems to be transitioning away from conventional playthings, they will find themselves in another crisis, trying to adapt and secure their place in this tech-dominated era.
Toy Story 5 is being prepped for release on June 19, 2026.
Gatto

The upcoming original movie from Pixar following “Hoppers” is titled “Gatto“. This film will be helmed by Enrico Casarosa, the same director who brought us “Luca” in 2021.
Initially showcased at the 2025 Annecy International Animation Festival, Pixar introduces a narrative centered around a black cat named Nero who begins to contemplate if he has lived a meaningful life. Struggling with debts owed to a local Italian cat mafia boss, an unlikely friendship blossoms, potentially providing him the chance to discover his true calling.
Gatto will come to movie theaters on June 18, 2027.
Incredibles 3

In simple terms, the highly-acclaimed Pixar tale, “The Incredibles,” is set to have a third thrilling installment among its upcoming releases. Notably, Brad Bird, who directed the previous two films, won’t be at the helm for this one. Instead, Peter Sohn, director of “Elemental,” will step up as the new leader. Actors like Craig T. Nelson (Mr. Incredible), Holly Hunter (Mrs. Incredible), Samuel L. Jackson (Frozone), and others are anticipated to reprise their roles.
Currently, there’s no officially revealed plot information about “Incredibles 3”. However, speculations indicate that the movie might hit theatres around 2028, but this isn’t yet confirmed.
Coco 2

At Disney’s annual shareholders meeting in 2025, CEO Bob Iger announced that a follow-up to the 2017 film “Coco” was already in its preliminary stages. Lee Unkrich, who directed the original movie and is renowned for his impressive work on “Toy Story 3” from 2009, will be returning for this sequel.
Initially, it was planned for “Coco 2” to be released in 2029. However, Disney and Pixar have since withdrawn that release date without providing any indication of when we might expect its cinema debut.
Let’s take a look at the picture of Pixar’s future film release dates that was posted by Discussing Film and is displayed beneath this text.

Pixar’s schedule will continue with Hoppers on June 19, 2026.
