Sigma fans, this one’s for you!
The nerdcore rapper Azazus has just released a fresh anthem for Overwatch 2 titled “The Universe Speaks.” Notably, the voice actor of Sigma, Boris Hiestand, contributed to this unique piece too.
Azazus drops Overwatch 2 Sigma rap
In a joint effort, Origami, who voices Sigma in the game Overwatch, and producer Azazus have come together for a project titled “The Universe Speaks by Azazus.” This collaboration opens with catchy raps from Sigma, complemented by Azazus’ clever lyricism. These lyrics delve into the backstory and lore surrounding Sigma in the upcoming Overwatch 2 game. Following an unfortunate lab accident, Sigma gained the power to manipulate gravity. Yet, this gift also resulted in a fractured mind, making him vulnerable to the manipulations of the Talon organization.

Azazus’ rap subtly references Sigma’s abilities in Overwatch 2. For instance, the lines “You’ll find yourself between a rock and a hard place” and “I don’t really give a flux” are likely referring to Sigma’s Accretion ability, where he hurls stones at his adversaries to knock them off balance, and his seemingly nonchalant attitude symbolized by the phrase “I don’t really give a flux.”

In a more casual and easily understandable manner: His main ability is called Gravatic Flux; it lifts opponents off the ground and then slams them back down. When Sigma uses this power, he exclaims, “The universe sings for me!” Both Sigma and his enemies can make out this phrase, whereas his teammates hear, “What’s that tune?

As a devoted admirer, I find “The Bridge of The Universe Speaks” captivatingly enchanting, with its hauntingly beautiful piano and violin melodies playing in the background. The lyrics resonate deeply as they describe how Sigma, by merely gesturing with his hands, harnesses his Hyperspheres to inflict damage. It’s fascinating how Azazus’ choice of Stepping Stones emote for the tank hero seamlessly complements this song – whenever equipped and chosen, Sigma hums a hauntingly mysterious tune that sends chills down my spine.

In a nod to the character’s comment that underscored the seriousness of the situation, Azazus acknowledges it, before highlighting Hiestand’s latest creations. He expresses his growing sense of vitality with the lyrics “The more I listen, the more I feel alive,” and finds the new pieces intriguingly innovative, referring to them as “What a fascinating experiment.

In a new tribute, “The Universe Speaks” echoes affectionately with Overwatch 2 themes, as demonstrated by the many nods to character Sigma scattered throughout the song and its accompanying visuals. Earlier, Azazus crafted the acclaimed “Hack the World” piece dedicated to Sombra.
