Michelle Keegan Actress seen on set after giving birth to daughter Palma as she gets to work on new ITV thriller The Blame

On Thursday, Michelle Keegan resumed her job after having a baby, by shooting scenes for ITV’s fresh suspense series titled The Blame.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself delighted to share that I’ve recently taken on my first significant role post the arrival of my little bundle of joy, Palma. Captured on set, the images portray me immersed in my new project, ready to create magic once again!

In the highly anticipated new ITV drama, she takes on the leading role as DI Emma Crane. Meanwhile, Douglas, aged 33, portrays her fellow detective, DI Tom Radley.

Drawing inspiration from Charlotte Langley’s highly successful novel, the six-episode series begins with the unsettling find of a young ice skater’s lifeless body in a peaceful community.

Afterward, DI Crane finds himself entangled in a complex net of dishonesty, malfeasance, and split allegiances – with no one appearing exactly as they are presented.

Michelle makes a significant comeback, having established herself as one of ITV’s top-earning actors through her roles in Our Girl, Tina and Bobby, and the popular comedy-drama series, Brassic.

Yesterday, Michelle and Douglas took Instagram photos on the initial day of filming, happily displaying a clapperboard that declared it as the first take in the production.

Inside an office that seemed like a police station, the two actors were filming, grinning at the camera, and playfully gesturing towards each other.

Michelle was just as beautiful as always, dressed in a stylish ensemble. She wore a striped button-down shirt beneath a cream sweater vest, showing a hint of the collar.

The star styled her dark brown hair neatly into a practical ponytail, while her makeup, skillfully applied by the styling team, was impeccable.

As Douglas prepared to step into his role, he presented a usual air of handsomeness, donning a straightforward black top layered over a white T-shirt.

As a devoted admirer of Quay Street Productions, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement as they began sharing photos from day one of The Blame on their Instagram account. Known for their success with Michelle’s 2024 megahit Fool Me Once, I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us this time around!

We just had to take a photo with our stunning main actors, Michelle Keegan and Douglas Booth, for our upcoming ITV six-part drama! The atmosphere is already setting the tone!

The Focus of the Suspicion revolves around an intricate murder case that spirals into a “web of deceit,” drawing inspiration from Charlotte Langley’s book with the identical title.

‘The story explores hidden secrets, suspicions, and deep-rooted corruption beneath the peaceful façade of a tranquil town.’

The story starts as the lifeless body of teenager Sophie Madsen, a talented figure skater, is found in Wakestead, causing widespread astonishment and distress.

Delving headfirst into this captivating mystery, I find myself entwined in the intricate web spun by the enigmatic deaths of DI Crane (Keegan) and DI Radley (Booth). What initially appeared as a heartbreaking tragedy soon morphed into a labyrinth of deception, hidden corruption within institutions, and a test of my very own moral compass. This investigation has become more than just a case to me; it’s an obsession that consumes every fiber of my being.

In the passage of time, as trust weakens, Crane finds herself in a challenging situation. She needs to manage a complex murder case and also deal with the dangerous internal politics within her team.

Additionally, joining Michelle, Douglas, and the renowned actor from Line of Duty, Nigel Boyle, will play the role of a forensic technician named Brett Shergill.

Previously known for his role as Robin Hood, actor Joe Armstrong, who shared screen time with Michelle in “Fool Me Once,” has now secured the part of a character named Kyle Fraiser, an ice-skating coach.

Additionally joining them are Ian Hart from The Last Kingdom, Nathan Mensah, Matilda Freeman known for her work with Passenger, Gavin Spokes of House of the Dragon, Josh Bolt from Last Tango in Halifax, and Ceallach Spellman, renowned for White Lines.

The six-part series was commissioned by the TV’s Drama Director, Polly Hill, who is well-known for her work. This series has been written and executive produced by Megan Gallagher, known for her works such as All Her Fault and Wolf.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, allow me to share my insights on an exceptional production: ‘The Blame’ stands out as a gripping crime thriller, replete with unexpected turns and a captivating inquiry. What sets it apart is its thoughtful exploration of themes such as police corruption, exploitation, and misogyny, seamlessly woven into the storyline as it unfolds.

Megan’s writing skills are truly remarkable and creative. With Michelle Keegan taking the main role and Nicola Shindler at the helm, this production promises to be a captivating drama that I am incredibly proud to see airing on ITV.

As Mary remarked, “Telling Charlotte Langley’s story in ‘The Blame’ is not just significant, it’s pressing; I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to breathe life into her world and characters through the screen.

I’m thrilled that this is my second project with Quay Street Productions. It’s a pleasure to work with them once more; I feel confident they have me well taken care of.

As the executive producers at Quay Street Productions, Nicola Schindler and Richard Fee expressed their happiness about collaborating with Megan once more.

She’s a remarkable author who’s penned an engaging collection of stories that leads audiences on a thrilling, maze-like adventure to uncover the truth about past events. This intricate narrative is set within a modern police station teeming with secrets, deceit, and dishonesty.

We’re equally excited about the exceptional ensemble, headlined by Michelle and Douglas, whose captivating performances promise to leave audiences guessing and questioning whom to believe. Given that the topics tackled in ‘The Blame’ resonate powerfully with today’s societal climate, it makes for an intriguing watch.

Michelle has recently taken on a new acting job, as it’s been a few months since the arrival of their baby girl Palma, whom they had with her husband Mark Wright in March.

Previously, she garnered international acclaim and recognition following her stellar performance as Maya Stern, the leading character, in Netflix’s highly popular series, Fool Me Once, which was released a year ago.

Currently, she’s juggling multiple characters, including Kate Thorne in “Ten Pound Poms” and Erin Croft in “Brassic”.
