Orlando Bloom looks in good spirits as he enjoys a boys’ night out in London amid ex-fiancée Katy Perry’s lengthy legal battle over California mansion

On Thursday evening, Orlando Bloom was seen in high spirits while having a fun guys’ night out at the Rex Rooms situated in Chelsea, London.

The 48-year-old actor, who parted ways with Katy Perry in June following nine years as a couple, exited a venue in west London with an upbeat demeanor.

For the occasion, he sported a white long sleeve sweatshirt and green cargo pants.

To complete his style, the star donned a black baseball cap and white sneakers. He also casually slung a suede jacket over his shoulder.

Orlando was seen beaming as he stepped out of the club at 1am and made his way home.

The trendy hotspot jointly owned by Jason Momoa, fashion designer Marc Jacques Burton, and producer Jason McNab, is receiving praise as the upcoming equivalent to the Chiltern Firehouse.

Recently, Mick Jagger celebrated his 82nd birthday at a club, attracting an illustrious gathering that included Ronnie Wood, Sacha Baron Cohen, Georgia May Jagger, Lizzie Jagger, and comedian Jimmy Carr.

Other recent nights have seen Machine Gun Kelly, and a surprise set from Ty Dolla $ign.

In contrast, Orlando’s evening adventure in London unfolds while his former fiancee, Katy, finds herself engrossed in a real estate dispute.

Katy, aged 40, isn’t merely pursuing monetary compensation in her legal dispute regarding a $15 million (approx £12M) mansion in the prestigious Montecito area of California; instead, she expressed to a Los Angeles court on Tuesday that she seeks justice as well, being the pop star herself.

‘Yes, I am seeking justice.’

‘I stand to lose money if it does not work in my favor.’

On the fourth day of a trial, the singer appeared before Los Angeles Superior Court via video link, requesting a significant sum from the terminally ill 85-year-old veteran, Carl Westcott. This lawsuit was filed due to outstanding rent and property damages incurred at the large residence she had purchased from him five years prior.

For fifty-five minutes of her testimony, Katy informed the court that prior to purchasing Wescott’s house in Santa Barbara for $15 million in cash in July 2020, she was the owner of three other properties in the area. She used her business manager, Bernie Gudvi, as her representative during the transaction.

A few short days following the contract’s signing, Carl, a person battling an incurable brain condition, attempted to withdraw from the agreement, citing that he had been affected by prescription painkillers during the signing process.

Instead, Katy and her partner Orlando, opposed him, expressing a desire to maintain the 9,000-square-foot residence as the place to nurture their five-year-old daughter Daisy, whom they were raising. On the day of her mother’s court testimony, which happened to be Tuesday, little Daisy celebrated her birthday.

After a protracted legal battle lasting nearly four years, Carl successfully defended the lawsuit aimed at annulling the sales contract. Ultimately, he and his partner managed to retain ownership of the 1930s estate situated approximately 100 miles north of Los Angeles. Notable neighbors in this exclusive region include Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Oprah Winfrey, Ariana Grande, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Shortly after acquiring the house keys, she and Orlando returned to court once more. This time, they were aiming for a $6 million (approx. £4.4M) settlement from Carl, citing approximately $2.5 million (approx. £1.8M) in property damage and potential rental income of $3.5 million (approx. £2.5M) lost during their extended legal dispute.

As a devoted supporter, I’m excited to share that after careful consideration, Katy’s legal team has adjusted the initial claim for damages down to approximately $1.3 million (equivalent to £900k). This significant reduction represents a savings of about $1.2 million (or £890k) from the original amount.

In her statement made on Tuesday, Katy confessed that by 2024, when the ownership of the property was officially changed, the individual listed as the homeowner was actually an LLC corporation which Orlando had control over.

In response to a proposal from Carl’s lawyer, Andrew Thomas, stating that Orlando was responsible for a $5 million (£3.7M) expenditure on home repairs and renovations, she clarified that she played a part as both Orlando’s partner and counsel in the project.

In response to Thomas’s question about potential financial interests in the litigation, I’d like to clarify that my possible financial involvement includes potential losses, legal fees, and missed rental income – essentially, a range of potential negative financial impacts.

To date, Carl has received approximately £6.6 million out of the initial £11 million spent on purchasing the mansion. Andrew inquired from Katy, “It seems someone needs to cover the remaining £4.4 million. Who might that person be?

She answered: ‘It could be a combination of Orlando and I. We are family for life.’

During Andrew’s query about whether Katy found out during her legal conflicts with Carl that he was admitted into a mental healthcare facility, Eric Rowen, Katy’s lawyer, strongly protested, asserting that Carl’s health status had nothing to do with the court case. Judge Joseph Lipner concurred and sustained the objection.

Katy has come under fire from Carl’s family members for going after their ailing patriarch.

People express their anger towards the perceived excessive wealth of the pop star, valued at approximately $350 million, and criticize the “Hollywood elite system” for enabling celebrities such as her to allegedly treat regular people disrespectfully.

Carl’s son, Chart Westcott, aged 40, stated, ‘Her actions display a lack of sportsmanship and compassion, with absolutely no regard for others, quite the contrary.’

Chart mentioned that it’s astonishing how his father, in such a critical state while receiving hospice care for Huntington’s disease, has lived beyond the time we all thought he would.

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself vehemently contesting the substantial financial demands that Katy has put forth, claiming compensation for the alleged loss of rental income and necessary repairs to her esteemed property. This impressive estate, complete with a tennis court, two exquisite guesthouses, and an inviting pool, is at the heart of this dispute.

According to Chart, who is connected to Real Housewives of Dallas star Kameron Westcott through her brother Court’s marriage, the damages being claimed are ‘extremely excessive.’ She added that there seems to be no other reason for this other than sheer greed. In her opinion, it’s surprising that such a minor issue has caused so much concern – she believes it’s more about having too much privilege.

Court Westcott, aged 46, shared with the Daily Mail that the prolonged five-year court case with Katy has taken a heavy emotional toll on his father.

For several years now, his father has been confined to bed due to his health issues. He’s nearing the end of his life, and currently, he isn’t fully cognizant of what’s happening with his health. However, we are eagerly anticipating some resolution in this difficult situation.

Katy enlisted over a dozen specialists to thoroughly inspect the house for issues and she asserts that the property requires approximately $1.1 million (£816k) in repairs due to extensive basement damage from a water leak, which led to flooding. Additionally, she claims that $225,000 (£116K) is necessary to restore the guest cottage/poolhouse roof, which was damaged when an oak tree collapsed on it.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my thoughts about this situation. It seems she’s requesting an astonishing sum of $3.5 million (equivalent to £2.5M) for the lost rental income that could have been generated from the luxurious retreat, a property she once claimed was intended to provide a nurturing home for her daughter Daisy during the sale.

Originally hailing from a humble, economically struggling household in Mississippi, Carl – an alumnus of the esteemed US Army 101st Airborne division – eventually relocated to Los Angeles and amassed his wealth by founding multiple thriving businesses, notably including the well-known 1-800-Flowers company.

He and Katy found themselves embroiled in a heated argument following his assertion that his decision to sign the sale agreement on July 15, 2020, was influenced by strong medication and poor health.

Their disagreement escalated after he insisted on that day in July that his sickness and potent medications had affected his judgment when he finalized the deal to sell.

In May of that specific year, Carl acquired a new home and moved in approximately two months before his negotiations with Katy’s business manager, Gudvi, began. Gudvi agreed to pay Carl an additional $3,750,000 (equivalent to £2,782,000) above the price he had recently paid for the house.

At the time he signed the document, Carl was 80 years old and had been released from the hospital just four days earlier following a six-hour spinal surgery. His legal representatives mentioned that he was taking a strong mix of painkillers to manage his discomfort.

After the effects of the medication subsided, Westcott acknowledged that he had erred and chose to discontinue his plans to sell.

According to his lawyers’ argument, due to his advanced age, health issues related to his back problem, recent surgery, and frequent use of painkillers, Mr. Westcott’s mental state became questionable.

Despite facing obstacles, Katy and Orlando remained determined to acquire the mansion and took their case to court, with Gudvi serving as their representative.

After Carl fell ill with Huntington’s disease, a condition that affects the brain and may lead to dementia, rendering him bedbound, his family stepped up to advocate for him.

In a previous court case, the well-known ex-pair emerged victorious as Judge Lipner determined that no compelling proof existed showing that Westcott was incapable of signing the contract.

In the end, the judge found no reason to cancel the agreement and emphasized that it should be upheld. What remained undecided was the matter of damages or compensation, specifically whether Perry should receive any reduction in cost.

Amidst her legal dispute with Carl, Katy purchased an additional lavish residence nearby in Montecito. Notably, she’s currently leasing the Westcott house to actor Chris Pratt, his spouse Katherine, and their trio of kids.
