Proof that Snoop Dogg has NOT been cancelled at the AFL Grand Final as shock announcement about his visit to Australia is made

It’s been confirmed that Snoop Dogg remains set to be the headliner for the AFL Grand Final entertainment, despite his recent remarks about same-sex relationships causing some controversy.

After the contentious remarks made last week, there are growing demands for the AFL to abandon the scheduled performance of the renowned hip-hop artist, who is 53 years old. However, it seems likely that he will still perform.

On both September 27th (Saturday) and 28th (Sunday), Sydney will be host to Snoop’s renowned DJ Snoopadelic Pop-Up Shows, right after the Grand Final. This suggests that his planned performance in Melbourne has not been cancelled.

Mudcrab Music teased the string of Sydney events on social media.

It’s confirmed! The renowned Snoop Dogg, accompanied by his iconic DJ Snoopadelic, will be performing live at the Greenwood Hotel.

28th September 2025 on a Sunday Night: An unforgettable party that happens just once! Secure your tickets quickly, as they’re bound to go fast – don’t miss out!

In addition to his work at the Greenwood Hotel, he’ll also be spinning tunes at the freshly opened Bella LIVE in Bella Vista, Sydney, this coming Saturday evening. After that, he’ll head over to the Cargo Bar on Sunday.

Following footy icon Brendan Fevola’s announcement, there are rumors suggesting that Snoop Dogg may no longer serve as the main entertainer for the AFL Grand Final, due to concerns over his lyrics and remarks concerning women and the LGBTQ+ community.

Some Australians are split over the decision to have a rapper perform at the AFL’s premier event, expressing concern that this choice may be undermining the league’s dedication to upholding respect for women.

Fevola believes that the AFL will backflip and axe Snoop from his headlining gig.

On the topic of Snoop, there could be some juicy tidbits I’ve heard, Fevola shared with 101.9 The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick on Monday.

They plan to dismiss him, as mentioned in a statement, due to the controversial lyrics in one of his songs that addressed the topic of having gay parents, which he discussed over the weekend.

‘I think he will get the a**e, and they are going to go for an Aussie artist to play at the MCG.

‘That will happen, take that to the bank. He will get the [a**e], which he should.’

Given Snoop’s huge profile, the move would be sure to make headlines outside Australia.

In the previous week, Andrew Dillon, CEO of the Australian Football League (AFL), justified the reported $2 million fee given to Snoop for his performance during the league’s grand final.

He stated that it’s impossible for us to guarantee the accuracy of every lyric in every song performed by any artist, whether they are Australian or international, on our stage now or in the future.

‘It’s also important to remember that we have engaged Snoop Dogg in 2025 as the person he is today.

In my line of expertise, I’d say this individual has bravely shared his personal history, undergoing a remarkable transformation that led him to become a loving grandfather, a generous philanthropist, and an advocate for youth rehabilitation. He’s not just a global entertainer; he’s graced stages like the Super Bowl and Olympic closing ceremony, performing for audiences exceeding 100 million people worldwide.

In such settings, his acts consistently won praise, and it’s expected that his performance at our national finale would suitably match the prestige of the top sports event in the country.

However, Snoop proved Dillon wrong when he appeared on a podcast last Thursday.

A man aged 53 was talking about potentially taking his grandson to watch the film “Lightyear,” a movie that includes two female characters who share a kiss.

Snoop Dogg shared that his grandchild asked him curiously, ‘Uncle Snoop, how does a woman give birth to a baby when she herself is a woman?’

He replied, “Oh dear, I didn’t expect this, I merely came here to enjoy the movie.

That’s quite unsettling, now I feel apprehensive about going to the movies because it seems like I’ve been placed in a situation I’m not equipped to handle. It’s left me feeling uncomfortable. Should such content be shown at this age? Children may ask questions that I don’t have the answers to.

In simpler terms, Snoop Dogg stated that same-sex relationships are being depicted extensively across popular culture as he started discussing this topic.
