Benedict Cumberbatch reveals the secret to keeping his 10-year marriage to wife Sophie Hunter strong – as he admits the one thing that ‘p***** them off’

Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed the secret to making his marriage work with wife Sophie Hunter.

49-year-old actor Benedict Cumberbatch, known for his role as Doctor Strange, and his spouse of ten years, theater director Sophie, who is also 47, revealed that they adhere to a “two-week separation rule.

During a conversation on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, hosted by Josh Horowitz alongside Olivia Colman (his co-star from The Roses), they inquired if there were any traits of him that might irritate those closest to him.

He confessed that his daily list of declarations, which begins in the morning and continues until late at night, only to start afresh the following day, consists mostly of him saying “I hate you.

‘Their discomfort from being away from home is frustrating for them, and it also bothers me. To alleviate this, we strive to follow a two-week rule and put maximum effort into making their work more accessible closer to home so I can return there or bring them along with me.’

The award-winning actor confessed that while his family sometimes accompanies him on set, it doesn’t guarantee a trouble-free situation.

He went on saying, ‘It’s enticing to imagine visiting the stunning settings of White Lotus. However, it presents quite a challenge.’

As an ardent admirer putting it in my own words, I find myself expressing, “Being apart from loved ones for quite some time is a reality I’ve come to know all too well. And even when they manage to join me, the challenges we face are far from negligible.

Since they’re occupied with their own activities rather than participating in what you’re doing, a question arises: Why are we gathering here? We don’t get to interact with our parents. This situation isn’t automatically solved.

Benedict resides in a 3.5 million pound property situated in North London, where he cohabits with Sophie and their trio of boys: Christopher (age ten), Hal (eight years old), and the youngest, Finn, who is only six.

Ben’s upcoming satirical divorce comedy titled “The Roses” will hit theaters on August 29th. It’s a fresh adaptation inspired by the 1981 book “The War of the Roses,” which was previously brought to life in the 1989 Hollywood film.

In a similar vein to Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner, the actor and Olivia portray a married couple whose once-strong bond deteriorates over time. This decaying relationship culminates in an amusingly over-the-top display of animosity and disgust.

Much like Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner did before them, the actor and Olivia take on roles as a couple whose marriage unravels comically, with their growing resentment and hatred becoming more and more extreme.

This production is helmed by Jay Roach, known for his past work on the Austin Powers comedy series, with a screenplay penned by Tony McNamara, author of Poor Things.

Apart from the original cast members, the new additions are Ncuti Gatwa, who plays the latest incarnation of Doctor Who, as well as popular American humorists Andy Samberg and Kate McKinnon.

Filming was done in both Salcombe, located in south Devon, as well as Los Angeles. The duo were initially spotted filming on a beach in Devon last June.

In 1989, Danny DeVito, who acted as a divorce attorney, directed the film and reassembled the group that had achieved great success together in the 1984 adventure “Romancing the Stone” and its follow-up “The Jewel of the Nile.

The new version has been described as a ‘re-imagining’.

According to producers at Searchlight Pictures, the lives of charming duo Theo and Ivy appear idyllic, with flourishing professions, wonderful children, and a satisfying romantic relationship.

However, beneath their harmonious exterior lies a powder keg of rivalry and bitterness that flares up when Theo’s career aspirations are shattered.

Or:

Despite appearing as the ideal family, they actually hide a brewing storm of envy and animosity. This tension erupts when Theo’s professional ambitions fail.
