Initially, only Belly and her closest confidante, Taylor, were privy to Jeremiah’s infidelity incident during the early episodes. However, this revelation did little to deter Belly from accepting Jeremiah’s marriage proposal. The audience was left bewildered by Belly’s quick forgiveness towards Jeremiah. Although Taylor agreed with her choice, many viewers are hoping that Belly’s family, especially her brother Steven and mother Laurel, will uncover the truth about Jeremiah and Belly’s relationship before their wedding day.

Does Steven Find Out Jeremiah Cheated?

In Jenny Han’s trilogy of novels titled “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” Steven Conklin played a minor character, leaving readers curious about his future romantic relationships as the books failed to provide a definitive answer on this matter.

Beyond his love story, there’s a question stirring among fans – did Steven discover that Jeremiah was unfaithful to Belly? This is significant because, in both the novels and the show, Steven is portrayed as Jeremiah’s closest friend.

Unfortunately, it turned out that Steven remained oblivious to Jeremiah’s deceitful affair. Although there was a close call during their bachelor party when Redbird accidentally revealed the secret while they were out drinking, Steven was engrossed on the dance floor and missed the disclosure. Instead, it was Conrad who overheard everything.

In the third season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” it was revealed that Steven remained unaware of Jeremiah’s actions during spring break. Although he came close to discovering the truth at the bachelor party, Steven opted to spend the night with Denise rather than continuing the evening with the other guys, which included Blake – Jeremiah’s ex-girlfriend who had initiated the conversation about Lacie that eventually led Conrad to find out this time around.

At the wedding (in the story), Steven didn’t discover Jeremiah’s unfaithfulness as he was engrossed in consoling Belly following her revelation that Jeremiah had fled due to Conrad’s admission of his genuine emotions.

Simultaneously, in the Prime Video series, Steven found himself overwhelmed and enraged by Conrad’s actions towards Belly after confessing his love for her during the wedding weekend. Since the latter part of the book concentrated mainly on Belly and Conrad’s letter exchanges leading up to their wedding (a small spoiler), it did not disclose whether or not Steven became aware of Jeremiah’s scandalous infidelity incident.

In the remaining three episodes of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” Season 3, a significant revelation unfolded in Episode 8: Jeremiah continued to console Belly’s ex-fiancé Steven after their wedding was cancelled, hinting that he remains unaware of what transpired during spring break.

Does Laurel Discover Belly Got Cheated on By Jeremiah?

If only Laurel had known about Jeremiah’s infidelity with Lacie Barone during spring break, everything would have played out quite differently. I can tell you now that the wedding wouldn’t have happened in the first place, as I, Laurel, would have taken drastic measures to prevent it, no matter how much it might hurt Belly.

In both the books and the series, Laurel remains unaware of Jeremiah’s infidelity scandal because this revelation could have significantly altered the course of the narrative.

In “We’ll Always Have Summer” and “The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3,” Laurel didn’t disapprove of Jeremiah and Belly’s marriage solely because of the cheating scandal. Rather, she believed that their immaturity, as young individuals, made them unsuitable for a lifelong commitment and the challenges that follow marriage.

Towards the end of the book, Conrad’s letters to Belly, penned during her time in Spain, display his ongoing affection. Meanwhile, Laurel subtly encourages this development by keeping Conrad informed about Belly’s foreign adventures. The fact that Jeremiah is never mentioned in relation to Laurel indicates a distanced and casual relationship between the two over the years.

As a result, she ended up not discovering the actual facts about Jeremiah’s irresponsible behavior over spring break, which deeply saddened her daughter.
