In the upcoming season, Tom Brady will experience less NFL-related limitations, given that he’s starting his second year as a game analyst for broadcasts on Fox.
In August, as the NFL owners were still considering Brady’s purchase of a 10% share in the Las Vegas Raiders, certain restrictions were imposed on him. Later, in October, his minority ownership stake was finally given the green light by the league owners.
Among the NFL’s rules often referred to as the Brady Rules, one stipulates that the novice commentator is not allowed to participate in meetings between the Fox broadcast team and coaches or players before a given game week.

Tom Brady, who is also a Raiders minority owner, shares that he still views himself as a work in progress when it comes to broadcasting. He’s currently relishing the experience of learning this new skill and is Fox’s analyst for the upcoming Super Bowl LIX.
On Wednesday morning, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed to The Times that the restriction has now been removed.
The catch is that Brady can only participate in those gatherings online. For now, he’s not allowed to visit the team’s facility for practice sessions or important meetings, as McCarthy explained.
Brady is allowed to interview players off site, as he did on occassion last year, McCarthy said.

In a noticeable shift, the largest and heaviest NFL players were let go as teams trimmed their rosters down to just 53 players, but it was particularly striking how many quarterbacks lost their positions.
Similar to last year, Brady is not allowed to severely critique referees, stated McCarthy. He further clarified that there were no such problems reported for the year 2024.
Brady, who has won the Super Bowl seven times for both the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was given permission by the league to participate in pre-Super Bowl LIX planning sessions in February.
The Athletic was first to report the loosening of the restrictions on Brady.
