Guardians Of The Galaxy May Be Over, But That’s Not Stopping Vin Diesel From Pitching More Groot (And I Don’t Hate It)

As a die-hard Marvel fan, I’m positively buzzing with anticipation about the upcoming slate of Marvel movies and TV shows! The Avengers, New Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four uniting for “Avengers: Doomsday” in December 2026 has me counting down the days. However, it seems like our intergalactic adventures with the Guardians of the Galaxy might be drawing to a close after the release of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” in 2023. But here’s where things get interesting – Vin Diesel is hinting at more Groot appearances, and honestly, I can’t help but cross my fingers that his vision for the character becomes a reality!

When we left off with the walking and talking tree at the end of Guardians 3, he finally got to say something other than “I am Groot” and was serving on the new incarnation of this team alongside Rocket, Kraglin, Adam Warlock, Cosmo, Phyla and Adam’s pet Blurp. So if there comes a day when Marvel Studios is willing to bring back Groot, where does he go from here? Here’s what Diesel had to say on Instagram about this subject:

I’ve always been captivated by the roots of The Hobbit’s creation – a tale that initially emerged as a father sharing stories with his children around a campfire. Recently, I’ve found myself immersed in developing and writing about characters I’ve formed strong connections with. Not too long ago, I shared with my family “The Arbor King,” the highly anticipated story of Groot’s return to Planet X. I’m creating movies that capture everyone’s attention – from the world, from my dedicated fans, and of course, the little ones. We are one with Groot!

In these images, we see Vin Diesel embracing his daughter, wearing a shirt emblazoned with “I am Groot” in white letters, while the second image is fan art featuring a powerful, glowing Groot standing next to a bearded Hulk. Given that Diesel mentions “development” and the lack of an existing story titled “The Arbor King“, it seems likely that

As a devoted film enthusiast, I can’t help but feel excited about the prospect of delving deeper into the lore of Planet X. Just like Vin Diesel hinted back in March, it seems that this enigmatic planet could very well be the next big thing in Marvel’s cinematic universe. Jokingly referring to it as Marvel’s most anticipated movie, Vin’s comments left us eagerly awaiting more details.

Personally, I can’t wait to see the story of Planet X unfold on the silver screen, especially since it might provide an opportunity for Diesel’s character, Groot, to expand beyond his iconic catchphrase “I am Groot.” Imagine witnessing other members of the Flora colossus species, or perhaps even uncovering the full extent of King Groot’s power. The possibilities are truly intriguing and I, for one, would be more than happy to join the audience in this thrilling cosmic adventure!

It’s uncertain whether Marvel Studios is actively developing this project or if they are considering it based on this script. I’m also intrigued to know whether Hulk is indeed part of “The Arbor King” or if Diesel chose that artwork for its aesthetic appeal. Here’s hoping we get clarity on the project’s status soon, especially since there might be no more Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4. If that’s the case, I’d be thrilled to join Groot in a cinematic adventure again.
