What hosts! The Clooneys enjoy time with A-list pals at $100million Lake Como villa

In possession of a breathtaking lakefront mansion valued at approximately $100 million, it’s understandable why George and Amal Clooney would want to share this stunning property with their celebrity acquaintances.

George (age 64), Amal (age 47), along with their eight-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, enjoyed an exciting outing with friends that included Adam Sandler, known for his role in Happy Gilmore. They departed from the grand Villa Oleandra owned by the Clooneys on Lake Como, taking a motorboat ride, and eventually arrived at the luxurious Villa d’Este for a fun-filled lunch together.

At the gathering were also present multiple Oscar-nominated filmmaker Greta Gerwig (known for directing Barbie), her spouse, fellow director Noah Baumbach, along with the Academy Award-winning performers Jim Broadbent and Laura Dern.

Also onboard were American actors Billy Crudup, Grace Edwards and Patrick Wilson.

Among those on board were Eve Hewson, a young actress who is the daughter of U2 frontman Bono, and Riley Keough, a granddaughter of Elvis Presley, often referred to as part of the younger generation in Hollywood.

The only one who could possibly claim to be ‘local’ was Italian-German actress Alba Rohrwacher.

Following their time at the villa, it’s anticipated that the Clooneys, along with several of their companions, will travel east towards the Venice Film Festival, set to commence later in the week.

Stories continue to surface suggesting that the Clooneys may be intending to part with Villa Oleander, yet they consistently hold on to it.

Clooney only paid €10m for the house when he bought it from the Heinz family in 2002.

As a devoted admirer, I can attest that the filmmaker’s presence near Lake Como ignited a significant surge in the real estate market. This influx led to property prices in the region nearly doubling.

In 2022, as reported by the Wall Street Journal, a house with 25 rooms was valued at more than $100 million.

For George Clooney, the beautiful expanse of Lake Como holds deep emotional significance since it was the venue where he encountered renowned human rights attorney Amal during a gathering hosted by mutual acquaintances in 2013.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in September 2017, the actor reminisced about her by saying, “She was strikingly beautiful, had a great sense of humor, and clearly possessed intelligence.

The home has seen its share of entertainment industry A-listers.

In 2004, the entire cast of Ocean’s Twelve was treated to a visit at the villa.

In the year 2010, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski got married at that location. Six years after their wedding, Krasinski shared with Elle magazine the story behind their union.

The Boston-born actor revealed that George offered the home to the couple multiple times.

It wasn’t until my fourth question that I agreed. The first three times, I hesitated, thinking he couldn’t possibly be sincere about it.

In 2018, I found myself temporarily residing in the realm of space – or at least pretending to do so – as I immersed myself in the making of the lighthearted film, Murder Mystery, alongside Jennifer Aniston. What a unique and memorable experience that was!

Four summers ago, Clooney lent his support to the region as it faced intense rainfall and landslides during the summer season.

After assessing the damage, George said in a video shared online, ‘It’s much worse than I thought.

I’ve consulted with our mayor, and it seems that significant efforts are required – perhaps even up to tens of millions of dollars – for the projects ahead. However, our city has proven its strength time and again. It will adapt and recover stronger than ever before. This town is remarkably resilient.

Roberto Pozzi, the mayor, shared with The Sunday Times that Clooney promptly visited the town hall to check on the situation. Afterwards, they went on a tour to examine the damages together.

In 2019, George organized a fundraising event through Omaze where a lucky couple had a chance to meet him and Amal at their villa, by participating in a contest.

Contributions were made to the Clooney Foundation for Justice, and the winners enjoyed a lunch with both George and Amal Clooney, along with covered round-trip flights and hotel stays.

Apart from their home by Lake Como, the Clooney family, consisting of eight-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, also owns properties in France, England, and Los Angeles.
