Lil Nas X speaks out amid felony charges, hospitalization: ‘Terrifying last four days’

Grammy-winning artist Lil Nas X reassures his followers that he’s on the road to recovery following a hospitalization and arrest, where he was questioned for allegedly advancing towards the police last week.

On Tuesday morning, the artist behind “Old Town Road” and “Industry Baby,” known as Lil Nas X (whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill), reappeared on social media. This came just hours after he paid a $75,000 bail and was freed from a Van Nuys jail. In an Instagram story selfie video, Lil Nas X uses third person and assures his followers, “She’s going to be alright, y’all. It’s okay?

He assures her, ‘She’ll be fine.’ Laughing, he adds, ‘Boy, that was scary! I must say, those past four days were truly frightening, but she’ll pull through just fine.’

Lil Nas X is currently dealing with four potential serious crimes, which include alleged actions such as rushing towards the police following an unusual walk down a street in Studio City. Recently surfaced videos depict him completely unclothed prior to his apprehension.

26-year-old musician “Dreamboy” remained silent about his encounter with the police, which started around Thursday evening as he walked naked through Studio City. According to a report by The Times last week, Lil Nas X was admitted to a hospital on Thursday due to suspected drug overdose. This happened when officers were called to the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard in response to reports of a man walking in the street without clothes. An LAPD representative later confirmed this incident.

On Thursday morning, the singer was taken into custody at the Valley Jail section of the LAPD’s Van Nuys station on charges of misdemeanor battery against a police officer. He was indicted on Monday for four felony counts: three for inflicting injury while battering a police officer and one for resisting an officer in execution of duty, all stemming from the same incident. It is reported that he physically attacked officers who were attempting to arrest him, resulting in injuries to at least three officers, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

At his hearing on Monday, he denied guilt for every charge brought against him. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 15th. If found guilty on all accusations, he could spend up to five years in a state penitentiary.
