After being premiered on June 19, the show steadily rose through the Netflix streaming rankings over several weeks, spending a notable five weeks within the top 10 of globally popular English-language series.
The show, featuring Holt McCallany, Jake Weary, Melissa Benoist, Maria Bello, Danielle Campbell, and Topher Grace, gained a significant following with viewers.

If you’re searching for a series that offers an engaging blend of drama, well-developed characters, and sufficient intrigue to maintain your interest, then you might find “Waterfront” a worthy choice, according to one reviewer on IMDb.
In the realm of thrillers, this series never fails to captivate and keep me on the edge of my seat, but at times, as the central plot gallops ahead, the storyline seems to falter slightly.
One viewer remarked: “The atmosphere is reminiscent of a blend between ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and ‘Narcos’. It delivers the raw, suspenseful underworld ambiance combined with stylish drama and profound character interactions. There’s an underlying tension that slowly builds, yet it never fails to keep you engaged with its gripping action sequences and surprising plot twists.

Another person mentioned that ‘The Waterfront’ was quite enjoyable. They weren’t expecting something extraordinary, but they found it engaging enough to watch the entire series straight through.
Previously discussing the show, Williamson stated: “The story revolves around a hardworking man striving to provide for his family. They have risen from humble beginnings and established a small-scale fishing dynasty in their town. Sadly, they’re losing it piece by piece now.
“They’ll do anything to hold onto it, because it represents their family.”
The Waterfront is streaming on Netflix.
