Emma Corrin’s “otherworldly” historical drama releases first trailer

The initial, enticing teaser trailer for the forthcoming historical comedy-drama titled “100 Nights of Hero“, featuring Emma Corrin and Nicholas Galitzine in leading roles, has been made available.

The upcoming movie, adapted from Isabel Greenberg’s 2016 graphic novel, features Galitzine as Manfred, an appealing character who is recruited by a husband who seems uninterested in testing Cherry, played by Maika Monroe, for loyalty.

Following Manfred’s arrival at an isolated castle, a perilous and devious game unfolds, disrupting the “fragile balance” within the household. As loyalties frequently remain hidden, Corrin appears as Cherry’s servant (and potential paramour) Hero, who grows increasingly wary of the enigmatic visitor to the castle.

In advance of its debut at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival coming up in a month, the initial teaser for this fantasy film was recently revealed. This brief 60-second preview offers a tantalizing glimpse into the intriguing ambiance that the movie promises.

In addition to its main characters, the film features an impressive ensemble, including Richard E. Grant, Charli XCX, Felicity Jones, and Amir El-Masry in secondary roles. The project is overseen by Julia Jackman, who serves as both the screenwriter and director.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Corrin, well-known for their work on The Crown, hinted at the project, expressing his enthusiasm: “Movies such as this are why I adore my profession. Julia has beautifully translated the cherished graphic novel to the screen with such emotion, compassion, and creativity.

Monroe expressed that ever since she first laid eyes on the script, the captivating narrative pulled her right in. Not long ago, she received recognition for her role in the movie Longlegs. Upon meeting Julia and learning about her distinctive ideas for the film, she felt compelled to take part.

Galitzine, recognized primarily for works such as “Red, White & Royal Blue” and “The Idea of You”, hinted at intriguing aspects of his elusive character. He described this character as both extremely charismatic and cunning, yet holding a sliver of kindness within.

Raised within a rigidly patriarchal culture, he is unwavering in his aspirations and relentless chase for Cherry. He further elaborated that the movie presents a surreal fairy tale exploring the themes of genuine love and those who interfere with it.

100 Nights of Hero is released in cinemas on 5 December.
