Marvel Studios Officially Unveils Miss Minutes’ Human Form (And She Looks Gorgeous)

For the first time, Marvel Studios unveiled Tara Strong’s human representation of Miss Minutes. Straddling the line between ally and adversary in the Loki series, Miss Minutes has captured fans’ hearts as they delved deeper into the TVA’s mysteries over the past few years. Given how sly and enigmatic the orange, clock-shaped AI is, it’s not shocking that she can transform into various forms too.

Marvel Studios recently unveiled an exclusive sneak peek into the second season of Loki, showcased in a book named “Loki: Season Two – The Making of the Series.” This publication offers glimpses of many main characters and actors from the upcoming season. It also reveals unused visuals and concepts that didn’t make it to Tom Hiddleston’s standalone Disney+ series. Among these, there are fresh perspectives on Miss Minutes, displaying a form not previously witnessed by fans.

Initially, Miss Minutes appeared to have a human form, adorned with a cheerful face and an orange-hued complexion. Notably, her eyes boasted orange pupils, introducing a chilling new visual aspect for the secondary antagonist that was not featured in the final version of Loki.

The alternate depiction portrayed Miss Minutes, voiced by Tara Strong, as an android instead of a human. Her upper body, including the fully orange head, was made of sleek white robotics.

In another image, it was illustrated that Miss Minutes, voiced by Tara Strong, was reimagined as an android rather than a human. The android version had a white robotic frame beneath her entirely orange head.

Her face also has tick marks in a circle to replicate the clock face on her usual body.

The book also provides glimpses of various other Miss Minutes designs, primarily showcasing alterations to her typical circular form. One depiction has a vintage aesthetic in black and white, with Mickey Mouse-like eyes similar to the Steamboat Willie character from the 1920s (further details about the recent horror reincarnation of that icon can be found here).

In simpler terms, Miss Minutes appears in another smaller form, similar to an orange clock suspended by a chain that somewhat resembles a Tamagotchi toy. At the bottom, beneath her face, there are two tiny buttons and an up/down control pad.

In this depiction, Miss Minutes is illustrated holding a candle within a golden contraption that resembles a clock. This clock features extended arms, and the candle itself bears markings that serve as hour indicators.

In a new portrayal, instead of resembling a candle, Miss Minutes adopts an hourglass shape as her central form. She is decorated with cascading orange sand, which trickles down from the top, mimicking the outline of her eyes, nose, and mouth.

Drawing inspiration from ancient Greece, our character Miss Minutes takes on a new form, resembling a sundial with Roman numerals adorning the edge that encircles her visage.

In a throwback to classic animation style, Miss Minutes sports a floral top hat and a broad grin, all depicted in a striking black-and-white design, offering a fresh take on this beloved character.

In the process of brainstorming ideas for Loki Season 2, several early animation versions depicting Miss Minutes were under consideration. These representations showed her traversing various time periods in search of Victor Timely, portrayed by Jonathan Majors.

A different collection of pictures portrays Tara Strong’s MCU character in a chilling manner, featuring a cloth shrouded around her resembling a spectral figure. The images are altered by presenting diverse eye and mouth shapes, ensuring that each rendition appears more terrifying or less intimidating depending on the visual presentation.

Furthermore, concept artist Wesley Burt discussed the process of creating Mis Minutes for Season 2, focusing on collaboration with Victor Timely. He shared insights about Marvel’s team suggesting that she harbored feelings for Victor Timely and was striving to appear more appealing to him. To visually align with Strong’s portrayal of the TVA’s public persona, he employed the overall aesthetics of the TVA and her voice as key elements in his design.

At this juncture, they shared with us that she was infatuated with Victor Timely and trying to make herself more attractive to him. To achieve a somewhat human-like appearance, she began posing on a mannequin. However, they wanted this presentation to be slightly unnerving. This concept inspired my characterization of Miss Minutes in Season 1, Episode 6. When visualizing her portrayal, I considered the overall aesthetics of the TVA, her voice, and what facial characteristics would complement that, as well as what Miss Minutes might find beautiful.

The storyline for Marvel Studios’ series titled “Loki” continues the adventures of Tom Hiddleston’s character Loki, following his escape from the aftermath of “Avengers: Endgame.” This time, he teams up with the Time Variance Authority (TVA), and actors like Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Ke Huy Quan, Wunmi Mosaku, and Eugene Cordero join him. The series explores Loki’s transformation into a hero before concluding with him guarding the Sacred Timeline as the God of Stories on Disney+. Fans can now stream both seasons of “Loki” on the platform.

Will Miss Minutes Return in Future MCU Projects?

Discussion about Tara Strong reprising her role as Miss Minutes has been buzzing since her final appearance at the end of Loki Season 2. In 2024, there were whispers that she would return in Deadpool & Wolverine due to the Time Variance Authority’s significant presence in the movie, but it didn’t happen as planned.

As we move forward with future Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) ventures, it’s not certain that the Time Variance Authority (TVA) will appear in any upcoming films or series within the Multiverse Saga. Yet, Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal of Loki in Avengers: Doomsday paves the way for the TVA to potentially have a significant impact in the most significant MCU film of the 2020s.

In the event that this occurs, it’s plausible that Strong’s Miss Minutes might not feature prominently, considering the multitude of Marvel Cinematic Universe and legacy heroes already slated for Doomsday. With numerous stories to be addressed in a span of approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, there may be insufficient time to devote more than a brief segment to Miss Minutes’ involvement.

Although the movie is scheduled for release in December 2026, there’s still room for flexibility since the details aren’t finalized yet. This means we might see the orange clock reappear again in the near future.
