Josie Gibson admits she’s ‘stepped back’ from TV work and reveals plans to live ‘off-grid as humanly possible’ – 15 years after shooting to fame

15 years since becoming widely known, Josie Gibson has shared that she’s decided to retreat from the spotlight and aim for a life as self-sufficient as possible, often referred to as living “off the grid.

A woman from South Gloucestershire, aged 40, first graced television screens during the 11th season of Big Brother on Channel 4 in 2010, which turned out to be its last broadcast.

Following her triumph on the show and departure from the secretive mansion, she skyrocketed to popularity and swiftly gained recognition throughout many homes.

Instead, Josie has disclosed her intention to step away from television and instead lead a more tranquil, minimalist lifestyle, striving to disconnect from the grid as much as feasible.

The single mother, in the process of constructing an eco-friendly dwelling for herself, shared that she aims to cultivate as much self-sustainability as possible by incorporating a small garden plot into her lifestyle, which was previously absent from her experience.

Everyone from my family is pitching in to assist me. With top-notch talent from Bristol at my disposal, I’m optimistic that I’ll be able to construct something truly impressive and spectacular.

During the summer season, Josie is recognized for contributing to the morning show, frequently stepping in as a temporary host when needed.

This year, regular viewers of the popular ITV daytime show might have observed that she appears less frequently than usual.

According to an interview with The Mirror, Josie shared that a significant portion of her workload increases during the summer break as she often fills in for others.

This summer, I deliberately chose to take a break from my usual activities and spent significantly more time with Reggie than I usually would.

Josie boasts an impressive roster of television appearances, which includes 8 Out of 10 Cats, Loose Women, The Jump, Cooking with the Stars, I’m A Celebrity, and The Masked Singer UK.

Following the announcement last month about my new ITV program, Josie Gibson’s Big Country Build, I am now officially part of this exciting venture.

Or:

Last month, I shared the news of my upcoming ITV program, Josie Gibson’s Big Country Build. Now, I’m thrilled to confirm that I’ve officially joined this project.

The seven-part show chronicled her process of revamping her sprawling Somerset estate into a contemporary dwelling, with the cameras capturing each step along the way.

Josie will be accompanied by her seldom-visited brothers Josh and Charlie, both scrap metal dealers, along with her construction-savvy cousin Tom.

As a firm advocate for eco-friendly living, I personally embrace this philosophy wholeheartedly. The documentary team will capture my journey as I delve into cultivating my own fruits and vegetables, and also set up an under-the-ground heat pump to foster a thriving bee community.

Discussing her upcoming program, Josie shared that she aspires to construct an ecologically friendly and lavish abode which offers a serene natural immersion.

My aim is to utilize this expansive piece of land to establish a quaint homestead. I aspire to create a harmonious environment where bees, birds, and badgers can coexist peacefully.

Despite my initial optimism, my once peaceful vision seems to be transforming more and more into a challenging construction predicament.

‘I can’t wait to bring the audience along on this journey with me!’

More recently, it was disclosed that Josie found herself living in a trailer once again due to sleepless nights and high levels of stress caused by the house renovations.
