The Guest, the upcoming BBC thriller starring Eve Myles, has unveiled a devilish new trailer.
The four-part series features the star of Broadchurch and Torchwood playing the character, Fran, a business proprietor. A complex and captivating dynamic unfolds between Fran and one of her staff members, Ria, portrayed by Gabrielle Creevy, as she becomes embroiled in a challenging relationship with this employee.
Despite appearing pristine on the outside, there’s an underlying menace hinted at, leading to a captivating yet manipulative cat-and-mouse chase. In this intricate game, it’s not immediately clear who’s pulling the strings.

Excitedly, I’ve been eagerly awaiting news about our beloved series, and this week, the BBC confirmed its premiere date – September 1st! Now, they’ve released a fresh trailer (check it out below) for the thrilling ride that promises to delve deep into the intense power struggle between the two key characters. Can’t wait!
As a captivated fan, I can’t help but share my excitement for the highly anticipated film, The Guest, starring Sion Daniel Young and Emun Elliott in supporting roles. This thriller has been marketed as a “propulsive,” “addictive,” and “fast-paced” masterpiece that dives deep into themes of “class” and “social mobility.” In the words of writer Matthew Barry, this film promises to be a compelling exploration of these topics, as reported by BBC.com.

According to Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, “The Guest” is an incredibly engaging and skillfully crafted suspenseful story that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. Meanwhile, Nick Andrews, Head of Commissioning for BBC Cymru Wales, also referred to it as a “thrilling rollercoaster ride with unexpected twists and turns.
Ria hasn’t yet contemplated her desires in life due to time constraints or opportunities lacking. However, when she begins working for Fran, she is captivated by Fran’s assertiveness and confidence, which motivates Ria to seize control over her own life.
When Ria prospers, a deep friendship develops between them. Yet, when Fran’s counsel results in an unexpected incident, the lives of these two contrasting women become entangled through mutual secrets and perilous schemes.
The upcoming show titled “The Guest” is set to air on television next month. Meanwhile, BBC has made available the second season of “Sister Boniface Mysteries” on iPlayer, allowing viewers to stream and enjoy 10 episodes from the murder-mystery series right away.
The Guest premieres on 1 September.
As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the latest print issue from Digital Spy has arrived! You can grab a copy of “Oasis – Live in ’25” at your local newsagents or online for only £8.99. Don’t miss out on this exciting read!
