Ryan Thomas’ teenage daughter took to TikTok on Friday to reveal that she did not sit her GCSEs.
This week, Scarlett, aged 16, seemed thoughtful as teens across the nation received their examination results.
Even though she’s quite young, it’s evident that she aspires to tread the same path as her renowned parents in the world of entertainment. Her enthusiasm for both acting and singing is palpable.
In the year 2023, Scarlett marked the beginning of her acting journey by landing a role on Waterloo Road, a series that had already catapulted her uncle, Adam Thomas, aged 37, into widespread fame.
Today, as I see others receiving their GCSE results, I can’t help but ponder if my own results could have been better. Regardless, this thought may linger with me forever.
In her caption, she included two heart emojis in red: ‘Everyone, regardless of your outcomes, I encourage you to feel immensely proud.’

Surprised fans learned that the young actress they admire hadn’t completed her important GCSE exams, leading them to wonder about her decision to forego earning any educational qualifications.
Alternatively, some people emphasize that school tests do not encapsulate an individual’s essence or potential for success in life.
Viewers wrote: ‘Why did u not do them or something?”
‘Nepo baby didn’t do them cause she thinks she’s gonna be a big superstar.”
It’s been two years now, and the past doesn’t dictate your future in the slightest. You’ll always ponder what could have been, but it seems that fate had other plans for you xx.
I’m proud of you, regardless! You’re incredibly gifted and doing fantastic things already. You have an incredible future ahead of you!”
In this paraphrase, I kept the original sentiment intact while making it easier to read and understand. The phrase ‘Proud of you anyways no matter what’ was replaced with “I’m proud of you, regardless” for clarity. Additionally, the repetition in the original sentence was simplified by combining some thoughts into a single sentence.
Don’t worry, Scarlett, your grades don’t change the fact that we’re all very proud of you. They don’t determine who you are as a person.” [sic]
Although many English youth take their GCSEs, these exams aren’t compulsory according to the Education Act of 1996.

Scarlett, daughter of Tina O’Brien, 41 (a well-known actress from ‘Corrie’), has responded to critics in the past regarding her acceptance of acting roles at an early stage in her career.
She wrote: ‘”You only got those opportunities because of your family.”
‘God forbid a girl takes the chances she gets.’
When Scarlett made her first acting appearance, her mother Tina (who is famously recognized for her role as Sarah Platt on Coronation Street, and is also the daughter of the well-known actor who played Jason Grimshaw) shared her sense of pride on Instagram at that time.
I’m really proud of @scarlettjthomas26 for all the effort she put into Waterloo Road. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed her performance as Izzy, it’s been fantastic to watch!
‘Wonderful to see her talent recognised by @tvtimesmagazine as she’s been nominated for an award.’
