Gogglebox star rushed to hospital for emergency surgery following shock cancer diagnosis: ‘It was a big scare’

This week, a well-known personality from the show “Gogglebox” needed urgent surgery at a hospital in Melbourne following her cancer diagnosis.

On Friday, Anastasia Katselas disclosed some difficult updates in a video she posted to Instagram, after undergoing an emergency hysterectomy.

Approximately ten days ago, the television figure revealed that her gynecological examination, which was conducted due to a health concern, uncovered cancer in her uterus after a pap smear was performed.

‘It was a big scare, but thank God they caught it early and I am fine,’ she said on social media.

However, I strongly encourage all ladies to prioritize getting regular Pap smear tests. Don’t let it slip your mind or postpone it. Make it a routine!

‘I used to do them regularly and I can’t remember the last time I went.’

She mentioned that she unexpectedly visited the doctor due to a worry, and they performed a Pap smear. To her surprise, a week later, she found herself admitted to the hospital.

They claimed to have detected it early on, but I’m yet to receive the post-surgery test results. Fortunately, the doctor indicated that it might not have spread, so fingers crossed, I should be alright.

Anastasia said she was admitted to hospital on Tuesday and returned home on Thursday.

She reassured her fans, saying she’s experiencing minor discomfort but is making a swift recovery. She then expressed gratitude to Cabrini Health, Dr. Tom Manolitsis, and All Medical in Wantirna for their exceptional care.

‘Recovering after surgery. I’m. Fine. Very lucky,’ she wrote in the caption of the video.

@CabriniHealth, @Drtommanolitsis, and all medical staff at Wantirna, I wanted to express my gratitude for your swift attention. Once again, it seems my life has been spared. A heartfelt thank you goes out to God.

Followers flocked to the comments with their well wishes.
