Recently, it’s come to light that Lionel Richie is the most recent celebrity targeted by a surge of burglaries happening in Los Angeles.
Contrary to some high-profile break-ins that occurred when celebrities were away from their homes, it is said that Richie was present at his residence when an intruder forced entry.
A report of a burglary at the residence of a 76-year-old musician in Beverly Hills came in to the police department late at night, as confirmed by the Beverly Hills Police Department to TMZ.
Fortunately, Richie’s house was fitted with a security alarm which successfully scared off the burglar, preventing them from stealing any of Richie’s valuable possessions.
The Daily Mail reached out to Richie’s representative for a comment, but we haven’t heard back yet.
Law enforcement officers, upon receiving a report, allegedly took into custody an individual identified as Michael John Bond, who is suspected of committing a break-in at a private residence.

However, formal charges have reportedly not yet been filed against the suspected burglar.
As a diligent follower, I am informed by the authorities that their inquiry regarding the break-in remains ongoing. The detectives assigned to this case are meticulously reviewing security camera recordings from my premises, along with other pieces of evidence retrieved at the scene, as part of their investigation into the crime.
As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my shock and disbelief! It seems that the Hollywood burglar has struck again, this time hitting Richie’s home – just weeks after invading Brad Pitt’s residence in Los Feliz, LA back in late June. Talk about bad timing for these celebrities!
It seems that the burglary occurred while Pitt was away from home, specifically during a trip he took to Japan for promoting his successful racing drama F1.
Last week, the police made a significant breakthrough in their investigation by apprehending three individuals who are believed to have broken into an actor’s residence.
It seems that the three suspected robbers have been apprehended, as they are reportedly connected to another case of breaking and entering.
It appears that the detectives managed to identify the men using security camera recordings from Pitt’s premises.
On the other hand, NBC LA was informed by the police that the potential burglars seemed not to be deliberately focusing on well-known individuals as their targets.

Pitt was subsequently reported to have listed the home that was broken into.
Late last month, Teddi Mellencamp became the victim of an attempted burglary.
Previously on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the star in question disclosed an incident where an alarm system, provided by her separated husband Edwin Arroyave’s security firm, successfully deterred burglars from entering her home.
After disclosing that she was a target, Mellencamp shared alarming security footage where a gang of men were seen scaling a fence and circling her house from the side, trying to break in. However, they swiftly fled in panic as soon as the security system started blaring.
This past February, Nicole Kidman and her spouse Keith Urban found themselves added to the extensive roster of high-profile individuals who have become victims of home invasions.
While I was away from home, I sadly learned that our beloved Beverly Hills residence, bought back in 2008 for a little over $4.7 million, had been unlawfully entered by intruders.
A suspected burglar allegedly broke a window to get inside, however, one of the couple’s employees happened to be on the premises and managed to effectively chase away the intruder.
