As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the news! Back in July, “The Institute” made its grand entrance and left critics on Rotten Tomatoes raving about its addictive and captivating nature. Now, just days before the season one finale on August 24th, we’ve got some fantastic news – the show has been renewed for a second season! I can hardly wait to see where this intriguing story goes next!

Michael Wright, Head of MGM+, praised The Institute, stating that it captivated audiences with its unique narrative style and exceptional acting, skillfully translating Stephen King’s distinctive voice onto the screen.
It brings us great joy to carry on and delve further into the enigmatic story of The Institute as we explore more depths in season two.

The second season will feature eight episodes, as executive producer King hints at fresh perils for the children. He expresses his excitement about it too.
During an interview with Radio Times, Barnes acknowledged the similarities between The Institute and Stranger Things, both sharing a common element of intense suspense.
The Institute also possesses an understated, almost investigative narrative quality. It combines various elements, some of which may seem familiar, yet they are subtly twisted or altered. He emphasized that while there are familiar aspects, the work is not derivative but unique in its own right, offering a sense of familiarity with a twist.
The Institute can be streamed on MGM+ through Amazon Prime Video, with fresh episodes premiering every Sunday.
The latest issue of Digital Spy’s print magazine has arrived! You can buy the Oasis – Live in ’25 album from newsstands or online for only £8.99 right now.
