Blended families sure are intriguing, don’t they? A collection of individuals who might be well-versed (or, as a recent conversation suggests, not so much) about such dynamics would be the celebrities from The Flip Off, Christina Haack, Tarek El Moussa, and his second spouse, Heather Rae El Moussa. The star of Selling Sunset recently posted a video where they’re all trying to untangle the familial relationships among themselves, which wasn’t exactly on my 2025 bingo card, but their queries are indeed valid.

But a recent video from Heather, which was reposted to Christina’s Instagram Stories, shows that they might not be completely clear on how everyone’s related now. They were hanging out with Christina’s new boyfriend, Chris Larocca, leading to this exchange:

Wow, what a fascinating and complex conversation! Despite the intricacies of relationships and who has children with whom, this debate was certainly engaging. It carried on, back and forth, until Heather, who was recording it, turned towards the camera and inquired:

  • Heather: Should we ChatGPT this, you guys? Can anyone tell us what Tarek would be to Hudson?
  • Tarek: This is a real dilemma, actually.
  • Heather: This is what tequila does. I need to really think this through…

As a film enthusiast, I must say, if everyone here has had tequila tonight, it certainly sheds light on the chaotic family tree we’re navigating! To set the scene, let me clarify the order of marriages and births. Tarek came before Christina, which means Hudson (Christina’s son with her second husband, Ant) and Tarek were never blood relatives, even through marriage. However, Hudson is indeed half-siblings with Taylor and Brayden, as they all share the same mother in Christina. Interestingly, Taylor and Brayden are also half-siblings with Tristan, since they all have Tarek as their father.

How about rephrasing it as: “What can you accomplish when you’re sober? Not to mention, I’ve got the advantages of caffeine working for me too. However, let’s save that discussion for a different time.” This version maintains the original sentiment while being more polite and professional.

To put it another way, it seems plausible that the HGTV stars are well-aware of the family relationships among their inner circle; however, some good-natured banter and a pointed query momentarily caught them off guard.
