It seems like you’re experiencing a common occurrence – starting a film, finding it unappealing initially, then returning to it later and enjoying it. This has happened to me recently with the new Netflix movie, “Fixed” about a dog’s last day before being neutered. I was close to abandoning it after the first few minutes of its somewhat explicit animated content, but I decided to give it another chance and let my inner teenager take control.
As a cinephile who’s always on the lookout for something fresh, I couldn’t be more thrilled that I decided to catch this latest masterpiece from Genndy Tartakovsky, the brilliant mind behind “Dexter’s Laboratory,” “Samurai Jack,” and the “Hotel Transylvania” series. This adult animated movie is a whirlwind of absurdity in the most delightful way possible. streaming it through my Netflix subscription turned out to be an utterly wild ride, one that I simply can’t keep to myself anymore!

I Made It Like Five Minutes Into Fixed Before I Stepped Away For A Few Days
One day after work, I began watching the series “Fixed,” but unfortunately, it didn’t resonate with me for various reasons. Despite the fantastic animation, which is a testament to Genndy Tartakovsky’s skill, I found the main character, Bull (played by Adam Devine), rather grating as he persistently rubbed Nana’s leg repeatedly.
While I didn’t absolutely despise it, I found myself feeling quite irritated and overwhelmingly exhausted, which caused me to momentarily step away from the 2025 movie. For a short while, I chose to suspend my viewing, close my laptop, and take a brief break from thinking about it.

But Then I Gave It A Second Chance, And This Time I Embraced The Raunchy And Juvenile Humor
Towards the end of the weekend, I chose to offer this dog another opportunity, this time in a better frame of mind and allowing my playful, adolescent sensibility to appreciate Fixed’s exaggerated, crude, and immature humor.
I’m relieved I made the choice to watch this film, as it had me in stitches watching Bull and his companions visit a canine strip club, turn a squirrel into confetti, and create chaos at a dog show. This movie undoubtedly deserves its R-rating and delivered on humor, though it should be noted that it’s a comedy better suited for more mature audiences or adventurous teenagers who have managed to bypass parental controls on their family’s Netflix account.

I Still Can’t Believe This Was Made By One Of My Favorite Childhood Animators
Upon viewing “Fixed”, I found myself drawing parallels to the peculiar 2000s comeback of “The Ren & Stimpy Show”. For a moment, I even thought it might be the creation of John Kricfalusi. However, upon further investigation, I discovered that it was actually Tartakovsky, the renowned animator known for some of the greatest cartoons ever made.
The unexpected thing about this movie is its significant departure from Tartakovsky’s usual work, as it delves into mature themes and contains graphic content that may not be suitable for children. In fact, it’s quite daring and explicit, comparable to some of the racier titles on Netflix. Frankly, discussing it alongside the more family-friendly shows like The Powerpuff Girls or Fixed is a bit astonishing.
The film titled “Fixed” is quite unconventional. It’s not an exceptional watch (yet neither the most disappointing), but it might be wise to glance at the adult-rated trailer prior to viewing it for a better understanding of its content.
