All 6 episodes of this detective-led “gritty Nordic crime noir” just dropped in the UK

The Icelandic drama titled “The Darkness“, often categorized as a “hard-boiled Nordic mystery thriller,” can now be streamed on Channel 4.

According to the novel with the same title by Ragnar Jónasson, the TV series spans six episodes and focuses on Detective Hulda Hermannsdóttir as she works on her last investigation before being compelled to retire early.

During her work on a startling murder investigation, the detective is compelled to confront her own deep-seated personal issues.
