On Thursday at Melbourne’s opening of his new documentary, “Jimmy Barnes: Working Class Man,” it appeared that Jimmy Barnes was in top physical shape, ready for any challenge.
At the Melbourne International Film Festival, the 69-year-old was joined by his wife Jane Barnes, granddaughter Ruby Rodgers, and daughter Mahalia Barnes.
Barnes was stylishly dressed in a complete black attire, sporting a jacket, jeans, and two-tone sneakers.
The rocker wore a single earring and a silver chain that matched the buttons on his jacket.
Additionally present was the notable singer, Kate Ceberano, who made quite an impression in a grand, billowing dress adorned with ruffles and having the classic elegance of a princess sleeve.
Actress Rachel Griffiths graced the event wearing a stylish woolen sweater adorned with vibrant patterns and pairing it with white denims.

Earlier this month, Barnes opened the 2025 Logies with a bang.
As a die-hard devotee, I couldn’t help but feel my heart race as I watched the legendary rocker command the stage at The Star in Sydney. With every note, he poured his soul into the revered hymn, “Working Class Man,” making it an unforgettable experience that resonated deeply within me.
Home viewers watching the ceremony found themselves less excited about the 69-year-old’s performance.
Several shared their thoughts on X, offering some less-than-flattering reviews.
One fan remarked about Jimmy Barnes: ‘He seems confused, I can’t make sense of his lyrics.’
It seems like we’ve gone back in time to the 1980s and their style of entertainment,” said one person. Another chimed in, “Definitely looks like content made for an older generation on an old-school platform.
A different take on the matter: “It’s not commonly agreed upon, but perhaps Jimmy should take a break, relax, and retire. After all, he deserves it.
They commented, “He’s not helping himself by singing everything with a screeching growl; it lacks the balance between light and dark now, and he’s ruined that timeless piece.

‘Perhaps consider selecting an opening act who performs in a real-life casino instead of an RSL, someone suggested.’
Another viewer added, “Barnesy is a legend, but that was tough to watch,” and someone else exclaimed, “Oh, for the love of all things holy, can we please stop this?
Others were thrilled by the show, as one spectator exclaimed, “The Emmys have reached their zenith prematurely! How could they possibly surpass this stunning display?
Another agreed: ‘Jimmy Barnes rocks the #Logies2025!’ while someone else called him a ‘legend.’
One more fan said: ‘Leading with Barnsey means it will be downhill from here.’
Following a challenging year marked by numerous health hurdles, Barnes unveiled plans for a tour this week to honor the 40-year milestone of his iconic single “Working Class Man.
Originally launched in November 1985, this song gained significant popularity, reaching the top five chart positions in Australia, and ultimately serving as the singer’s powerful theme song.
In November, beginning the concert series, Jimmy will be performing alongside ’80s chart-topper Iva Davies and his group Icehouse, as well as beloved artist Kate Ceberano.

To delight fans, the iconic Australian rock star of Scottish origin will perform every song from his “For the Working Class Man” album, an instant chart-topper in Australia upon its 1985 release.
Jimmy’s six-date tour begins on November 22 in Victoria at the Mount Duneed Estate in Geelong.
After the performance at Queensland’s Sirromet Winery on November 29, there will be another event. Later, Jimmy will travel to New South Wales for a concert at Bimbadgen Wines in the Hunter Valley on December 6.
Following the holidays during Christmas, Jimmy will kick off performances again starting with a New Year’s concert at the Regatta Grounds in Hobart on January 17, 2026. After that, he’ll head to the Peter Lehmann Wines venue in South Australia’s Barossa Valley for a show scheduled on January 31.
The tour celebrating “The Working Class Man” album, which turns 40 this year, concludes on February 7 in Western Australia, specifically at Sandalford Wines located within the beautiful Swan Valley region.
