Gunther Werks Unleashes 1,000 HP Slantnose-Inspired F-26

Summary

  • Inspired by Slantnose Porsche and fighter-jet design, limited to 26 units
  • 1,000 horsepower air-cooled twin-turbo flat-six, manual transmission
  • Carbon-fiber chassis, seven-speed manual, modern homage to 911 heritage

During Monterey Car Week, Gunther Werks unveiled their newest creation, Project F-26. Preliminary information suggests that this 1,000 hp restomod pays tribute to iconic Slantnose models from Porsche such as the 935 and 930 Turbo. Influenced by the sleek design of a fighter jet, its name represents both swiftness and scarcity since only 26 units will be produced.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the F-26 I’m working on is constructed on a robust 993 chassis. It sports a sleek carbon-fiber body and fixed headlights for enhanced aerodynamics and compliance with regulations. The fenders have been widened, and a striking high-downforce rear wing has been added to boost performance. Weighing around 2,750 pounds, this beauty perfectly blends vintage charm with cutting-edge engineering.

Beneath the exterior lies a 1000 horsepower, 750 lb-ft torque, Rothsport Racing-collaborated air-cooled 4L twin-turbo flat-six engine. This power is channeled via a six-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential. Its serious handling enhancements include track-ready cooling, double-wishbone front suspension with adjustable JRZ dampers, motorsport ABS, and modified steering geometry.

Within, the cockpit harmonizes luxury and practicality: visible carbon fiber, custom leather, Alcantara headliner, a wheel reminiscent of a fighter jet, wooden gear shift knob, and contemporary technology such as Porsche Classic radio compatible with Apple CarPlay. The Project F-26 embodies Gunther Werks’ philosophy of preserving Porsche’s traditional essence while venturing into the realm of hypercars. At the time of writing, pricing details have not yet been disclosed.
