Haikyuu VS The Little Giant Release Date Estimate, News & Updates

Fans of anime are eagerly awaiting the release of the movie that pits Haikyuu against The Little Giant. As a continuation of the popular volleyball series, the film follows on from where Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle ended, focusing on Hinata’s next major challenge at Nationals. The movie is set to deliver another heartfelt and thrilling installment, leading up to the highly anticipated climactic battles fans have been eagerly anticipating.

What is the Haikyuu VS The Little Giant release date estimate?

The Haikyuu VS The Little Giant release date estimate is fall 2026.

Following the release schedule of its predecessor, the upcoming movie is expected to follow a similar pattern. The film “Dumpster Battle” was initially released in Japan in February 2024, approximately 18 months after its announcement in 2022. Given that they’ve maintained a consistent production cycle, it’s likely that the next sequel will be unveiled towards the end of 2026.

It seems that the studio might have concurrently produced this film with its prior installment, creating a plausible chronology for the storyline. Given other significant anime films’ anticipated rule in 2025, it’s probable that Production I.G will choose 2026 as the release year for this one.

Haikyuu VS The Little Giant news and updates

The film is set to incorporate crucial sections from the Tokyo Nationals Arc, starting roughly from chapter 327 and continuing up until chapters 365.

In the sequel, Karasuno moves forward following their win against Nekoma and competes in the quarterfinals against Kamomedai High. Hinata encounters Korai Hoshiumi, often referred to as “The Little Giant,” a former idol he once looked up to. The movie highlights this intriguing rivalry while maintaining the exciting, action-packed matches that are characteristic of the series.

As a die-hard volleyball fan, I’m thrilled to announce that Ayumu Murase is back as our protagonist Shoyo Hinata! Kaito Ishikawa returns as Tobio Kageyama, while Satoshi Hino, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Nobuhiko Okamoto, and Yu Hayashi bring Daichi Sawamura, Asahi, Nishinoya, and Tanaka to life, respectively. The supporting cast includes Koki Uchiyama as Tsukishima, Miyu Irino as Sugawara, and Soma Saito as Yamaguchi. Adding even more excitement, Natsuki Hanae voices the ace of Kamomedai, Hoshiumi. And that’s not all – a group of new characters are also joining the team!

The upcoming film promises to display Karasuno’s progression in the next round of Nationals, where they encounter their most formidable opponent yet. Hinata aims to demonstrate his skills not only as a sportsman but also in competition with the legendary “Little Giant” from the original series.
