Justin Baldoni hits back at Isabela Ferrer’s harassment claims amid Blake Lively legal battle

Justin Baldoni has addressed Isabela Ferrer’s claims of harassment, with the ongoing lawsuit between him and Blake Lively concerning their movie “It Ends With Us” still ongoing.

As a devoted supporter, I’m sharing that at 41 years old, Baldoni refutes the allegations made by the 24-year-old actress Ferrer. She has filed a vigorous legal response against the director-star, claiming he attempted to compel her to testify on several occasions, a claim Baldoni denies.

According to reports, the Daily Mail obtained documents submitted by Baldoni’s team on Monday. These documents suggest that they received a subpoena requiring Ferrer to provide papers that Lively’s team allegedly didn’t request or missed out on.

As a passionate and dedicated admirer, I must share some news that’s left me quite disheartened. My legal team has tried reaching out on two separate occasions to Ferrer’s lawyers regarding the subpoena, only to find ourselves met with silence. Regrettably, it appears our messages were ignored.

According to Ferrer’s team, process servers were unable to find her at residences in Brooklyn and Sag Harbor. Subsequently, Justin’s legal team requested the judge to allow an alternative method of service delivery. However, Ferrer’s lawyer, Sanford Michelman, criticized them for including ‘motion addresses’ that could potentially be Ms. Ferrer’s home address in their request.

Baldoni’s legal team argues that they didn’t harass the actress because they weren’t the first ones to serve her a subpoena. In fact, it was Lively, aged 37, who initially received one prior to them.

In simpler terms, the document states that Miss Lively should not be allowed to acquire discovery materials from Miss Ferrer, because Miss Ferrer and her legal team are preventing the Wayfarer Parties from getting the essential discovery materials needed for their defense preparation.

In light of the current situation, all involved parties agree not to communicate about, receive communication from, or reference Miss Ferrer in any way, nor use any testimony from her, within the context of this case.

Baldoni’s legal team requested Judge J. Liman to allow them to serve papers to Ferrer through an alternate method.

Simultaneously, as revealed by documents acquired by People, Ferrer’s legal team asserted that Baldoni acted dishonestly and submitted his motion not for justified reasons, but to harass and exert undue influence over her.

In February, upon receiving a subpoena from Blake, the granddaughter of Rosemary Clooney and José Ferrer asserted her rights under an indemnification agreement in her contract for the film “It Ends with Us” with Wayfarer Studios. This clause stipulates that the studio is responsible for covering her legal expenses.

According to Michelman, Wayfarer consented under a significant stipulation – that Isabela would concede authority – over her response, which she subsequently entrusted to private legal representation.

‘Baldoni did not attempt to modify the subpoena to obtain fresh or alternative materials, suggesting that the main objective behind the subpoena issued to Baldoni and the subsequent motion is to harass Miss Ferrer.’

Michelman requested Judge Lewis J. Liman to dismiss the motion entirely and levy suitable penalties on Baldoni.

The representatives of Ferrer and Baldoni have been contacted by The Daily Mail, seeking their comments regarding the filing made by her on August 12th.

In 2023, the co-founder of Wayfarer Studios chose a native New Yorker to play the young character Lily Bloom in her first major film role. This decision was made after a nationwide search for actors and reportedly received approval from Taylor Swift following an audition process.

In simpler terms, Blake claimed that, after Justin shot the scene depicting young Lily losing her virginity for a flashback, he told the actors, “Admittedly I shouldn’t be saying this, but that scene was intense.

During a promotional interview for an EPK in 2023, when asked about Baldoni, Isabela praised him by saying he has a remarkable ability to maintain a positive atmosphere on set.

In the role of a novice actor, finding your footing in a sea of new experiences can be challenging. Having someone offer constructive feedback such as, “You’re doing great. Now, let’s focus on this area,” can prove to be extremely helpful. This is what Ferrer emphasized.

In a nutshell, there’s no sense of being talked down to or ignored. Instead, it feels like I can approach him with any request without hesitation. Our initial call after my new job saw us using FaceTime, and he made it clear from the start that if I needed anything at all, I could simply call him. His number was readily available to me from that first conversation, establishing a mutual understanding that I could easily reach out to him if necessary.

In the very same year following the wrap of filming, I, once a humble restaurant worker, found myself expressing profound gratitude to the host of the Man Enough podcast for orchestrating an extraordinary debut cinematic experience for me – an event immortalized in his online chronicles.

Isabela expressed via text that she couldn’t quite get over the experience, as it had a profound impact on her life.

1) ‘You’re an exceptional, intelligent, and genuine director who made me feel at ease and empowered to truly embody this role. The supportive and inclusive atmosphere you provided was truly remarkable, making it one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had.’

However, after Ferrer started co-promoting the film with Lively (formerly known as Brown), it’s been claimed that Lively turned on Justin, reportedly spreading negativity towards him not only among the actress herself, the cast, and author Colleen Hoover, but also reminiscent of her past actions with her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley.

Previously, the actress who starred in “Another Simple Favor” playfully referred to herself as Isabela’s stage mother, and they even have a matching mole. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she expressed: “Filmmaking is just my side job. Isabela is my top priority.

Ferrer delighted in spending sleepover nights with her ‘benevolent’ mentor Blake, who dressed her for red carpet events, and recently shared with People: “It’s massive to be able to bond with the individual you’re co-starring with, and she’s simply an exceptional person.

She wonders how this Carnegie Mellon University graduate juggles raising four kids, running her businesses, acting, producing, and managing everything else,” expressed admiration.

‘I mean, she is Wonder Woman. I don’t know how she does it. It’s crazy.’

In a more lively manner, she encountered significant backlash due to her handling of journalists, responding with sarcasm when questioned about domestic violence in her film, and promoting herself in a florally extravagant, Barbie-esque style that was directly linked to her haircare and alcohol brands.

Or simply:

She faced strong criticism for the way she treated journalists, made sarcastic remarks when asked about domestic violence in her movie, and promoted herself using a flowery, doll-like image that was tied to her haircare and booze brands.

As a devoted follower, I want to share that the strategic promotion of the domestic violence drama was skillfully orchestrated by my husband, Ryan Reynolds, who hails from Los Angeles and is a father of four, via his firm, Maximum Effort.

Over the course of unveiling further details, it seems that Blake, insisting on credit for every movie she produces, has apparently orchestrated a dominant control over the script, costumes, music, and editing team of “It Ends with Us” project by suggesting that she might withdraw her support for its promotion.

In March 2026, Lively and Baldoni will reportedly go head-to-head at the Manhattan US District Court over charges of sexual harassment and defamation. However, it seems that public opinion has already leaned in favor of Baldoni prior to the trial.

In June, Judge Liman created a stir by ruling in favor of dismissing the two multimillion-dollar libel lawsuits filed by Justin; these were worth $400M and $250M respectively, against Lively, Reynolds, Leslie Sloane (publicist), and the New York Times.

The narrator of “The Secrets of the Penguins” alleges that Baldoni engaged in sexual harassment and launched a smear campaign against her in retaliation. Moreover, her legal team has served over 100 subpoenas to content creators, suspecting them of being on his payroll.

Interestingly, Blake chose to share her CCRD complaint with the New York Times in December, aiming to publish a biased article. This move ultimately led to the publication of text messages from Wayfarer publicist Jennifer Abel, which were questionably obtained through a subpoena linked to a bogus lawsuit filed by Reynolds’ company Vanzan.

In spite of the negative publicity and poor critiques, It Ends with Us generated an impressive $351 million worldwide, earning this much despite a budget of only $25 million.
