The awards show Premios Juventud has revealed the nominees for its 22nd year event. In a close race, Puerto Rican sensation Bad Bunny and popular Venezuelan singer-songwriter Danny Ocean are tied with six nominations apiece.
Close on their heels are chart-toppers Anitta, Beéle, Carín León, Emilia, Myke Towers, Netón Vega, and Peso Pluma, each earning five nominations. Additionally, nominees like Becky G, Camilo, Fuerza Regida, Grupo Frontera, Kapo, Karol G, and others are also in the running for awards.
This year marks a significant milestone for the awards ceremony, having started on the Univision network in 2004 and is now operated by the multimedia organization, TelevisaUnivision.
The live event is scheduled to happen for the first time ever outside the U.S., specifically in Panama City, Panama. This decision comes as part of TelevisaUnivision’s dedication to acknowledging and celebrating the power, values, and traditions within Latin American communities. They announced this plan in a press release statement.
In addition to a new location, this year’s work also features a fresh theme: “Evolucionando al ritmo de la música,” which indeed appears to be the case. (This paraphrase attempts to maintain the original meaning while using more natural and easy-to-read language.)
This year, Premios Juventud is expanding its categories by adding eight new ones to better align with changing youth preferences. Among these new additions are awards for the top alternative Mexican song, the best pop/rhythmic song, and Afro-Latino Artist of the Year.
This year, the organization is broadening its focus to include honorees from various fields beyond just music and television. These fields include beauty and fashion, podcasting, streaming, travel vlogging, and soccer passionates, in addition to digital creators, advocates, and comedians. Social media platforms have recently emerged as a thriving ground for Latino talent, which is why these new categories have been introduced into the award show.
The winners for the Premios Juventud 2025 will be chosen based on votes from viewers, and you can cast your vote until September. You can do this by visiting premiosjuventud.com.
The Dominican actress Clarissa Molina, along with others yet to be announced, will be hosting the awards show. The live broadcast of this event will take place on September 25 from the Figali Convention Center and can be watched on Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión, and ViX at 4 p.m. Pacific Time, 7 p.m. Eastern Time, and 6 p.m. Central Time.
