Calvin Harris addresses ‘feud’ with Miley Cyrus as he teases new music without the Grammy winning singer after ‘crossing wires’

Calvin Harris recently clarified speculations about a disagreement with Miley Cyrus, when he hinted at upcoming music on the social media platform TikTok last Tuesday.

The DJ, aged 41, gave a sneak peek of his collaboration with the songwriter Jessie Reyez, 41, on a track titled “Ocean.

Nonetheless, while some fans were excited, others pointed out that Calvin Harris had earlier previewed an unheard track featuring Grammy-winning artist Miley Cyrus, who is 32 years old, lending her vocals to it.

Fans inquired: “What became of the one featuring Miley? I prefer Miley’s rendition; Release it using Miley’s voice.

In reaction to the comments, Calvin playfully suggested that fans should encourage the We Can’t Stop hitmaker to “give it a go,” as he too was eager to share a track with her.

In response to being asked if the Miley Cyrus version would be released, he indicated that it is unlikely. Alternatively, he expressed his doubts about its release.

The well-known DJ asserts that the issue with Miley Cyrus not being on the track was due to an accident or mistake on his side.

Asked who was to blame, he said: ‘Nah it was my bad . . . crossed wires.’

Dispelling speculation the pair had fallen out, he added: ‘I love Miley.’

Daily Mail have contacted Calvin Harris and Miley Cyrus’ representatives for comment.  

This year, Calvin made a comeback by releasing his initial solo track since 2018 titled “Smoke The Pain Away,” which marked the first time he was the only vocalist on a song since then. Additionally, it was his first single out since his joint venture with Ellie Goulding in 2024, titled “Free.

Regarding Miley, the popular musician has something extraordinary lined up for the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana.

The artist became well-known due to her role on the Disney series that aired for four seasons from 2006 to 2011, and she expressed interest in honoring the show with a unique event next year.

She expressed on SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio that she aims to create something truly extraordinary for it, as it marked the origin of everything that stands here today.

‘Without Hannah, there really wouldn’t be this kind of… this me.’ 

In the series, Cyrus portrayed Miley Stewart, a teenager who led a secret dual life as the renowned pop star Hannah Montana. Miley was thrilled to mark this character in celebration.

She mentioned it was surprising to consider, given that the character initially seemed nearly impossible to develop beyond what she had originally envisioned.

Now, what I bring to a space often evokes a feeling of nostalgia, much like something cherished from childhood. Interestingly, I’ve become as ingrained in people’s lives as a beloved character.

‘So that’s exciting to get to celebrate that.’

Following Calvin and his wife Vick Hope, a Radio 1 DJ at 34 years old, joyously welcomed the birth of their first child as a couple.

Calvin Harris, a renowned British DJ, took to his Instagram account to share the exciting news about the birth of their son, named Micah. He also commended his partner as a true superhero in the process.

The Radio 1 host, Vick, welcomed a new addition to her family through a home water birth at her residence in Ibiza. After starting her maternity leave, she decided to travel there.

Calvin posted an honest image of his wife relaxing in the birthing tub, along with a heartfelt snapshot showing him with Micah shortly after the delivery.

In the collection of pictures, Calvin shared the news by saying: “Our son was born on the 20th of July. Meet Micah! My wife is truly remarkable, and I am in absolute admiration of her instinctive intelligence. So grateful we are for him. We love you immensely, Micah.
