The extremely well-liked show “The Great British Baking Show” is set to come back on September 2 for its sixteenth season, featuring a fresh batch of talented bakers.
Each autumn, the cherished baking contest is a long-standing television event, captivating millions annually with its blend of impressive masterpieces and kitchen mishaps.
Twelve competitors will face off directly within the well-known tent, under the observant gaze of returning judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, and the hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.
Within this group, there’s a drag king who skates on roller-skates, a medical student who stands out as the show’s youngest participant at 23 years old, and a bridal dress designer.
Additionally, a notable figure in this scene goes by the name Yeastie Boy, a food influencer who has amassed over 600,000 followers across various social media platforms.
Take a look at the 2025 line-up, as the countdown to Bake Off begins.

Jessika
Gifted with various skills, Jessika aims to be one of the winners who receive the prestigious title of Star Baker and potentially shake hands with Hollywood figures.
In a lively and engaging manner, the service designer based in London takes on the role of a roller skating Drag King and demonstrates a strong affinity for gymnastics as well.
The 32-year-old remarked, “It felt strange to see the large white tent for the first time, even though I’ve been watching the show for years. I often thought that perhaps someday, this woman might impress the judges with her baking skills.
Jessika excitedly announced on Instagram: “At last! The cake has come out of the oven!
It’s hard to wrap my head around it, but that young baker has accomplished what I’ve been aspiring to do for a while now – getting into the tent! As an amateur baker, this achievement is more than I could have hoped for and still feels surreal.
I’m incredibly thankful for the abundance of love and backing I got throughout my journey, and deeply regret having to conceal this from you all (trust me, it was the toughest secret I’ve ever had to guard!!!).
> Being somewhat anxious by nature, I’ve got to admit that I’m petrified at the thought of replaying it… yet overflowing with eagerness. So, jump in and share the excitement as I attempt to create a mess and bake up a storm on The Great British Bake Off!!

Jasmine
At 23, Edinburgh-born medical student Jasmine is this year’s youngest hopeful.
The contestant residing in London learned the craft of baking from her mother and aunts. She shared that she enjoys employing traditional flavors and methods to create scrumptious pastries.
It’s evident from her social media posts that Jasmine has a passion for cooking and frequently throws dinner parties for her friends.

Iain
Iain, a former amateur powerlifter, earned himself the humorous moniker “Yeastie Boy” due to his habit of decorating the tops of his homemade bread with album covers.
Iain’s fanbase counts more than 400,000 individuals on TikTok and approximately 240,000 on Instagram, with him frequently posting photos of his awe-inspiring and one-of-a-kind masterpieces.
As a devoted software engineer, I can’t help but share my exhilarating experience. When the phone rang confirming my placement, I found myself in a state of shock. It never crossed my mind that this opportunity would become a reality.
Initially, I believed the call was just a joke. However, soon after being informed about something, I received another call, thinking they would clarify that there had been a mix-up and I hadn’t actually been selected for the show.
On Instagram, Iain shared his excitement with these words: ‘It seems someone has allowed this little Irish baker onto the Bake Off! I can hardly contain my excitement to let you all know that I will be participating in The Great British Bake Off this year. Wishing me luck, as I’ll surely need it!’

Pui Man
51-year-old bridal designer Pui Man, originally from Hong Kong but currently residing in Essex, reignited her love for baking while navigating the restrictions of the COVID-19 lockdown.
On Instagram, she frequently posts pictures of exquisite cakes she’s made for loved ones.
Every week, Pui Man dedicates three evenings to a volunteer role. She picks up excess food from local grocery stores and shares it with her neighborhood.
In an exhilarating turn of events, I couldn’t help but share my thrilling news with all of you! For quite some time now, I’ve been sworn to secrecy, but at long last, I am bursting with pride to announce that I had the extraordinary opportunity to bake in the illustrious tent of The Great British Bake Off.
‘It was an absolutely amazing experience, and it was the hardest thing I had ever done.’

1. He frequently posts photos of his homemade baked goods on Instagram, and his profile description is: “Passionate, unabashed lover of baking bread.” (best choice)
2. Option B: He showcases a lot of his bakery items on Instagram, and in his bio he mentions: “Overwhelmingly fond of the art of baking bread.” (clear but could be improved)
3. Option C: On Instagram, you’ll often find pictures of his various baked goods, and in his bio, he admits: “I can’t help but be head over heels for bread baking.” (awkward phrasing, better to say “admits to being completely smitten by the craft of bread-making”)
4. Option D: His Instgram is filled with pictures from his baking ventures, and his bio states: “Completely smitten by the craft of bread-making.” (clear and concise)
As I stand here, brimming with excitement, I can’t help but exclaim what an absolute thrill it is for me to declare: This year, I find myself stepping into the oven-warmed realm of ‘The Great British Bake Off’, transforming from a mere observer into a contestant, and yes, you heard it right, a baker! The anticipation and the honor are simply beyond words.
It’s hard to believe I’m saying this, but it’s truly an honor to be included in the lineup! I can hardly wait until September 2nd to get started watching!

In simpler terms, his Instagram profile states that he’s an autodidact baker with an amateur status, and he’s recently begun posting tutorial videos for making his delightful desserts.

Leighton
Leighton, 59, originally from Swansea now lives in Surrey and works as a Software Delivery Manager.
Leighton has always done things his own way, ignoring anyone that told him ‘boys don’t bake’.
He spent his childhood years honing his skills on the organ at his local church, and currently resides in Surrey alongside his Californian spouse, Eric, and their Irish Terrier named Cilla.
He enjoys experimenting with classic Welsh, British, and American tastes, particularly delighting in dishes such as Welsh cakes paired with peanut butter or a Victoria Sponge cake filled with key lime pie filling.
Leighton organized a get-together for his loved ones, where he revealed his plan to participate in this year’s upcoming series.

Natallia
Nataliia, the office assistant, hails from Ukraine and relocated to England with her spouse Harry about four years back, prior to the onset of the conflict.
They now all live in East Yorkshire with their 3-year-old daughter, Francesca.
Her grandmother showed her how to bake using age-old recipes that have been passed along from family to family over time.
On social platforms, she announced her thrill and apprehension (a bit of both!): ‘Terrific tidings! I’m overjoyed (and slightly anxious) to unveil that I’ll be participating as a contestant on The Great British Bake Off – Series 16!’
I feel privileged to be the initial Ukrainian baker inside the tent, and I’m eagerly looking forward to embarking on this journey with all of you. Let’s mix, laugh, and relish each week together as we bake.

After leaving his own advertising agency behind, he’s lately found himself drawn back towards his passion for culinary delights.
Tom delights in fishing for sea bass alongside his brother, gathering mushrooms himself, and preparing roasts together with his father.
