The curse of the Mucky Mansion: As Princess Andre brands home ‘a really scary place’ and Katie Price admits it was the root of all her troubles – here’s what went on behind closed doors

This week, Princess Andre caused quite a stir by describing her old residence as a rather intimidating environment, revealing that she encountered numerous unpleasant incidents within the Dirty Manor.

Moreover, it’s not only Princess who finds problems with the West Sussex property; her mother, Katie Price, referred to it as ‘cursed’ last year. This occurred when she was forced out by bailiffs due to missing mortgage payments.

The model who’s known for her glamorous appearances exclusively shared with Daily Mail that she believes her home has been the source of her struggles over the past years. This is due to recurring problems like burglaries, multiple pet losses, and even claims of encountering ghosts.

For more than a decade, I, an ardent admirer, called that house my dwelling place. However, it transformed from a sanctuary into what felt like the depths of “Hell,” as Katie so aptly put it. This living environment left me grappling with crippling anxiety and frequent, overwhelming panic attacks. In an effort to regain control and peace of mind, I found myself seeking solace in therapy sessions.

In 2014, she purchased a spacious, nine-bedroom home, that later gained fame due to its grandeur and was featured on a reality TV show, for a price of two million pounds.

By December 2024, Katie managed to sell her property at a price of £1.5 million, but unfortunately, due to her financial difficulties, she didn’t receive any proceeds from the sale. Instead, the money was absorbed by the debts she had accumulated against the house previously.

After departing from the premises, she delivered a foreboding advisory to the incoming proprietors, sharing with Daily Mail her sentiment: “I dislike that house profoundly. May whoever acquires it beware, for misfortune awaits them there.

She went on to say, “It’s truly accursed. That house made my anxiety much worse. At one point, I found it impossible to climb the driveway without experiencing a panic attack.

I underwent a session about my home, and I wish I hadn’t returned. Looking back now, leaving was the best decision I made.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share my thoughts on the intriguing tales surrounding Katie’s abode. You see, she’s spoken about her chilling apprehensions that the house is inhabited by a spirit of a child – a young soul, perhaps. And, what really sends a shiver down the spine is the fact that several of her beloved pets have mysteriously perished within its walls. A haunted home, you say? I’d certainly lean towards agreeing!

In the year 2024, Katie posted photos of two individuals whom she suspected were attempting to burglarize the Mansion – this occurred only a few days following an incident where she had to contact the authorities due to a group of unfamiliar people causing disturbance near her residence.

She shared a concerning video on Instagram that captured someone approaching the front door on a doorbell camera, who then departed after taking no notice.

Katie also shared pictures – one of him along with another individual, and another snapshot of a white Ford car parked on her driveway.

At approximately 9 pm, Sussex Police reportedly received a tip-off about some unusual activity that seemed to be connected to a potential burglary. This information was shared with the Daily Mail.

Police reported that the two gentlemen were thoroughly inspected and then offered guidance instead of finding any incriminating items on them. Upon completion of this search, they were subsequently freed.

As a devoted admirer and caretaker, I found myself once again at the center of an event in the enigmatic Mucky Mansion. This occasion, perhaps my final endeavor, was one that caught the attention of Channel 4 when I aimed to breathe new life into this captivating yet long-abandoned estate.

Katie disclosed that an intruder broke onto her premises during the night, using a corrosive liquid to damage the exterior of her Range Rover, leaving parts of its pink coating missing.

She revealed: ‘There is 24 hour security now at the property for protection.’

As I prepare to bid farewell to my old residence in May, I must confess that the anticipation of this day had long filled me with apprehension. Yet, as the moment approaches, an eagerness to embark on a new journey overtakes me.

The house has been a significant source of distress for her, overwhelming her in many ways. Balancing work and children made it even harder in more recent times. She firmly believes that the house is inhabited by ghosts.

While residing at her secluded manor, known as the “Mucky Mansion,” concerns about Katie’s animal-tending practices arose when it was reported that five dogs, a horse, and even a chameleon had passed away under her care. Many of these incidents took place in traffic accidents near the property.

As a diligent pet owner, I’ve come to realize that the string of unfortunate incidents, which I once believed were merely a matter of bad luck, seem to have predominantly occurred when I was absent. Now, in my new abode, I’ve taken extra precautions by fortifying the garden to ensure the safety and well-being of my beloved pets.

In response to those who question her ownership of pets, Katie explained to The Sun that the circumstances surrounding her pet-owning situation were beyond her control.

I’m certainly not neglecting them; quite the contrary! I have a deep affection for animals and enjoy caring for them.”

This version aims to convey the same meaning while making it more conversational and easier to understand.

Following media coverage about Katie apparently no longer caring for her dog Tank, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) wrote an open letter to her in February 2024.

They offered her £5,000 if she signs a contract to not acquire another animal. 

In a letter shared by The Sun, PETA Vice President Elisa Allen expressed her concerns about an increasing number of animals either passing away under your care or being given away, which is difficult to overlook and has understandably raised questions among many people.

Regardless of the explanations you provide for their hardship, abandonment, or decline, it’s evident that you continue to inflict harm on these delicate, conscious beings. I trust we can both see that this situation calls for a more compassionate approach.

PETA added: ‘things have gone horribly wrong with many of the animals under her supervision’.  

In reply to the open letter, a spokesperson for Katie stated that she had repeatedly invited PETA for a private discussion, but they persist in portraying their story through the media instead.

‘If they want to have a direct conversation with Kate they can get in touch.’

Couldn’t the charitable funds be better utilized helping animals instead of being distributed to celebrities? Or are there sufficient resources already for such celebrity donations?

Previously, leading animal welfare organization PETA has criticized Katie severely following the death of her seventh pet under her care, labeling her actions as having “traces of guilt” or “responsibility for harm”.

Regarding the much-discussed state of disarray at Katie’s home in Sussex, which has gained notoriety for its run-down condition and repossessions, Princess expressed that she had endured ‘difficult experiences’ within the property: ‘That house was truly unsettling. A lot happened there. So I never felt particularly fond of it.’

Although Princess didn’t reveal her personal encounters, it’s well-known that Katie asserts the house is haunted and has experienced unprovoked incidents at her residence.

Looking back at that dwelling, here’s my take: “That place was quite unsettling, filled with memories that still send a shiver down my spine. There were far too many events unfolding there, which made it less than enjoyable for me. It seems that when we associate negative experiences with a location, our feelings towards it tend to be unfavorable.

In contrast, when speaking about the differences between staying at her parents’ homes, Princess said, “Dad’s place is significantly calmer, more tranquil, and well-structured. On the other hand, Mom’s house offers a lot more freedom to do as one pleases.

I enjoy finding a balance between both worlds. Each house offers something unique: if I’m seeking some excitement and activity, I head to Mum’s place; but when I need tranquility and relaxation, I choose Dad’s abode.

After the controversy over her disappearance from the reality show, the princess started pondering about the turbulent relationship between her parents.
